Which companies sponsor visas for QA engineers in Massachusetts?
Several large Massachusetts employers have documented H-1B sponsorship histories for QA engineering roles. These include Wayfair, MathWorks, Biogen, Raytheon Technologies, and Liberty Mutual. Smaller biotech firms in the Kendall Square area and fintech companies in downtown Boston also appear in Department of Labor LCA disclosure data for QA and software quality positions.
Which visa types are most common for QA engineer roles in Massachusetts?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for QA engineers in Massachusetts, as most roles require a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, meeting the specialty occupation standard. Candidates already in the U.S. on F-1 OPT or STEM OPT extensions are also actively hired, with employers filing H-1B petitions before OPT expires. The TN visa covers Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering classifications.
How to find qa engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to find QA engineer roles in Massachusetts where employers have indicated willingness to sponsor. Because sponsorship status is often buried or omitted on general job boards, using a focused platform saves significant time. Filtering by Massachusetts and the QA engineer role on Migrate Mate surfaces the most relevant active openings.
Which cities in Massachusetts have the most QA engineer sponsorship jobs?
Boston and Cambridge account for the largest share of QA engineer sponsorship activity, driven by the concentration of biotech, software, and financial services firms. Waltham and Burlington along the Route 128 corridor host major tech and defense employers with established sponsorship programs. Worcester is a secondary market with growing healthcare IT activity, and Marlborough has notable medical device manufacturing employers.
Are there any Massachusetts-specific factors QA engineers should know about visa sponsorship?
Massachusetts employers filing H-1B Labor Condition Applications must attest to paying at least the Department of Labor prevailing wage for the QA role and geographic area. Boston and Cambridge prevailing wages are among the higher benchmarks nationally, which can work in candidates' favor for offer competitiveness. The state's heavy concentration of life sciences employers also creates demand for QA engineers with regulatory and compliance testing backgrounds, a specialization that strengthens sponsorship cases.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored qa engineer jobs in Massachusetts?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
