Which companies sponsor visas for QA engineers in Oregon?
Intel is the most prominent visa sponsor for engineering roles in Oregon, with large campuses in Hillsboro that regularly hire QA engineers. Other notable sponsors include Nike in Beaverton, Daimler Trucks North America in Portland, and health tech companies like Cambia Health Solutions. Oregon's semiconductor and software sectors produce consistent H-1B filings for quality assurance roles.
Which visa types are most common for QA engineer roles in Oregon?
The H-1B is the most common visa for QA engineers in Oregon, as quality assurance roles requiring a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field typically qualify as specialty occupations. Some employers also sponsor TN visas for Canadian and Mexican nationals, and candidates with extraordinary ability may pursue the O-1. Each pathway depends on the employer's willingness to file and the role's specific requirements.
How to find qa engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Oregon?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship status, making it straightforward to find QA engineer roles in Oregon without sorting through positions that won't support international candidates. You can search by role and state to surface active openings from Oregon employers, including those in Portland, Hillsboro, and Beaverton, where the majority of sponsorship activity for QA professionals is concentrated.
Which cities in Oregon have the most QA engineer sponsorship jobs?
Portland and the surrounding Washington County corridor, including Hillsboro and Beaverton, account for the large majority of QA engineer sponsorship activity in Oregon. Intel's Hillsboro campuses alone represent a significant share of H-1B filings in the state. Eugene has a smaller but growing tech presence linked to the University of Oregon, and Bend has attracted remote-first engineering teams, though on-site sponsorship roles remain far more common in the Portland metro.
Are there any Oregon-specific factors QA engineers should know when seeking visa sponsorship?
Oregon's concentration in semiconductors and health technology shapes what QA roles look like in the state. Intel's presence means hardware and firmware QA experience is particularly valued in Hillsboro. Oregon State University and Portland State University supply a pipeline of engineering talent, but international graduates on OPT should confirm employer sponsorship intent early, as H-1B cap timing affects when a petition can be filed. Prevailing wage requirements apply statewide and vary by county.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored qa engineer jobs in Oregon?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
