Which companies sponsor visas for QA engineers in Nebraska?
Omaha-based employers with established technology operations are the most consistent sponsors for QA engineers in Nebraska. Fiserv, which has a significant fintech presence in Omaha, along with Mutual of Omaha and First Data, have filed H-1B visa petitions for technology roles. Union Pacific's IT division and healthcare technology firms operating out of Omaha also appear in federal labor condition application records for quality assurance positions.
Which visa types are most common for QA engineer roles in Nebraska?
The H-1B is the most common visa for QA engineers in Nebraska, provided the role requires a bachelor's degree in a specific technical field such as computer science or software engineering. The H-1B1 visa is available exclusively to Chilean and Singaporean nationals. Candidates already in the U.S. on OPT or STEM OPT through programs at the University of Nebraska can use that period to secure employer sponsorship before transitioning to H-1B status.
How to find qa engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Nebraska?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find QA engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Nebraska, as it filters specifically for roles where employers are open to sponsoring work visas. You can search by state and job title to surface opportunities in Omaha and Lincoln. Focusing on financial services, insurance technology, and logistics technology employers in Nebraska increases your chances, as these industries have the strongest track record of H-1B sponsorship for quality assurance roles.
Which cities in Nebraska have the most QA engineer sponsorship jobs?
Omaha is by far Nebraska's primary market for QA engineer sponsorship jobs, driven by its concentration of financial services, insurance, and logistics technology employers. Lincoln offers a secondary market, particularly through companies connected to the University of Nebraska's research and technology commercialization ecosystem. Outside these two cities, sponsorship opportunities for QA engineers in Nebraska are limited, making Omaha the practical focus for international candidates.
Are there any Nebraska-specific considerations for QA engineers seeking visa sponsorship?
Nebraska's QA engineer job market is heavily shaped by its financial services and insurance industries, meaning employers often prioritize experience with compliance testing, regulatory software, and enterprise systems over consumer product backgrounds. The University of Nebraska at Omaha and University of Nebraska-Lincoln produce graduates who may compete for the same H-1B sponsorship slots, so international candidates with specialized domain experience in fintech or healthcare IT have a stronger positioning in this market.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored qa engineer jobs in Nebraska?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
