Which companies sponsor visas for QA engineers in New Jersey?
New Jersey's largest visa sponsors for QA engineers include Cognizant, Infosys, and Tata Consultancy Services, which collectively file a high volume of H-1B visa petitions for testing and quality assurance roles. Pharma and life sciences employers such as Johnson & Johnson, Merck, and Novo Nordisk also sponsor QA engineers, particularly those with experience in regulated software validation and FDA compliance environments.
Which visa types are most common for QA engineer roles in New Jersey?
The H-1B is the most common visa for QA engineers in New Jersey, as software and systems quality assurance roles typically qualify as specialty occupations requiring at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field. Some candidates also enter through the L-1B intracompany transfer visa when moving from a foreign office of a multinational employer with a New Jersey presence.
Which cities in New Jersey have the most QA engineer sponsorship jobs?
Newark and Jersey City lead for QA engineer sponsorship volume given their proximity to New York City and concentration of financial services and technology firms. Princeton and the Route 1 corridor between Trenton and New Brunswick are strong hubs for life sciences QA roles. Parsippany and Bridgewater also see consistent sponsorship activity from large IT services and pharmaceutical employers headquartered in those areas.

Are there any New Jersey-specific considerations for QA engineers seeking visa sponsorship?
New Jersey's high concentration of pharmaceutical and medical device companies means many QA engineer roles involve regulated environments under FDA guidelines, which can increase the employer's preference for candidates with formal credentials and prior domain experience. IT services firms operating out of New Jersey also tend to sponsor heavily through staffing models, so understanding whether a sponsoring employer is the end-client or a third-party vendor matters when evaluating long-term stability.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored qa engineer jobs in New Jersey?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
