Which companies in Utah sponsor visas for QA engineers?
Adobe, Qualtrics, Domo, eBay, and Overstock have all filed H-1B petitions for QA and software quality roles in Utah based on Department of Labor disclosure data. Larger enterprise software companies in the Silicon Slopes corridor tend to have dedicated immigration programs, while smaller Utah startups may sponsor less frequently. Checking a company's prior H-1B filing history is a reliable way to gauge sponsorship willingness before applying.
Which visa types are most common for QA engineer roles in Utah?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for QA engineers in Utah, as the role generally qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field. Some applicants also enter through the L-1B intracompany transfer route if they're moving from a foreign office of a Utah-based employer. TN visas are available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering roles.
Which cities in Utah have the most QA engineer visa sponsorship jobs?
Salt Lake City and the Silicon Slopes cities of Lehi and Provo account for the large majority of QA engineer sponsorship activity in Utah. Lehi in particular has grown into a dense tech hub, hosting regional offices for major software companies. South Jordan and Draper also have a meaningful presence of mid-sized tech employers who have filed H-1B petitions for quality assurance roles.
How to find qa engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Utah?
Migrate Mate filters QA engineer jobs in Utah specifically by visa sponsorship eligibility, so you're not sorting through listings that won't support international candidates. The platform aggregates roles from employers with documented H-1B sponsorship histories, which saves significant time compared to researching each company individually. Searching by the Silicon Slopes region on Migrate Mate surfaces the highest concentration of relevant Utah QA openings.
Are there any Utah-specific factors QA engineers should know before pursuing sponsorship?
Utah's tech sector has expanded rapidly through its Silicon Slopes cluster, which means many employers there are familiar with H-1B sponsorship processes. Brigham Young University and the University of Utah both produce computer science and engineering graduates, creating active pipelines into local QA teams. Because competition for roles at well-known Utah employers can be high, international candidates with experience in SaaS quality assurance or test automation frameworks are generally better positioned.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored qa engineer jobs in Utah?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
