Which companies sponsor visas for data analysts in Illinois?
Large Illinois-based employers with documented H-1B sponsorship for data analyst roles include Allstate, Morningstar, United Airlines, Discover Financial, and Kraft Heinz. Major consulting firms such as Accenture and Deloitte, which maintain large Chicago offices, also regularly sponsor data analysts. Technology-forward firms in the Chicago fintech and insurtech sectors have similarly active sponsorship records visible in Department of Labor LCA disclosure data.
Which visa types are most common for data analyst roles in Illinois?
The H-1B is the most common visa for data analyst positions in Illinois, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as statistics, computer science, or mathematics. OPT and STEM OPT are also widely used by recent graduates from Illinois universities before transitioning to employer-sponsored H-1B status. Some multinational employers use the L-1B for internal transfers.
Which cities in Illinois have the most data analyst sponsorship jobs?
Chicago accounts for the overwhelming majority of data analyst visa sponsorship jobs in Illinois. The Loop, River North, and the Fulton Market tech corridor are the densest employment areas. Suburban hubs like Deerfield, Northbrook, and Schaumburg host corporate campuses with analytics teams, including pharmaceutical and insurance companies. Champaign-Urbana has a smaller but active market driven by University of Illinois-affiliated employers and tech startups.
How to find data analyst visa sponsorship jobs in Illinois?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically to roles where employers have active visa sponsorship, so you can search data analyst positions in Illinois without sorting through listings that exclude international candidates. Filtering by Illinois on Migrate Mate surfaces roles from Chicago-area financial services, healthcare, and technology employers. You can also cross-reference employer names with Department of Labor LCA filings to verify recent sponsorship activity before applying.
Are there any state-specific considerations for data analysts seeking sponsorship in Illinois?
Illinois employers filing Labor Condition Applications for data analyst roles must attest to meeting the prevailing wage for the Chicago-Naperville-Elgin metropolitan area, which is determined by the Department of Labor's wage surveys. University of Illinois and Northwestern alumni networks are particularly active in Chicago's analytics hiring market, giving candidates from those institutions a practical networking advantage. Illinois has no state-level visa or work authorization program, so all sponsorship follows federal H-1B and employment-based immigration processes.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored data analyst jobs in Illinois?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
