Which companies sponsor visas for healthcare analysts in Illinois?
Large integrated health systems are the most consistent sponsors in Illinois. Northwestern Medicine, Advocate Health Care, Rush University Medical Center, OSF HealthCare, and Lurie Children's Hospital have all filed H-1B visa Labor Condition Applications for healthcare analyst and related data roles. Health insurance organizations like Health Care Service Corporation, headquartered in Chicago, also sponsor for analyst positions regularly.
Which visa types are most common for healthcare analyst roles in Illinois?
The H-1B is the most common visa for healthcare analyst roles in Illinois, as the position typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as health informatics, public health, statistics, or computer science. Candidates with a relevant master's degree may also qualify under H-1B advanced degree exemption slots. Those with employer-sponsored green card pathways often pursue EB-2 or EB-3 classification.
Which cities in Illinois have the most healthcare analyst sponsorship jobs?
Chicago accounts for the large majority of healthcare analyst sponsorship activity in Illinois, given the concentration of major health systems, insurers, and academic medical centers in the metro area. The surrounding suburbs, including Naperville, Downers Grove, and Evanston, also have meaningful activity due to satellite campuses and regional offices. Outside the Chicago metro, Peoria is the next most active market, driven largely by OSF HealthCare and UnityPoint Health.
How to find healthcare analyst visa sponsorship jobs in Illinois?

Beyond browsing Migrate Mate, targeting health systems with large analytics departments, particularly those affiliated with academic medical centers in Chicago, increases your chances of finding roles where sponsorship is an established part of the hiring process.
Are there state-specific considerations for healthcare analysts seeking sponsorship in Illinois?
Illinois follows federal prevailing wage requirements for H-1B positions, so sponsoring employers must pay at least the Department of Labor prevailing wage for healthcare analyst roles in the relevant metropolitan area, with Chicago-area wages reflecting its large and competitive labor market. Illinois also has a strong pipeline of international graduates from programs at the University of Illinois, Northwestern University, and the University of Chicago, which means many employers in the state are already experienced with sponsoring candidates transitioning from OPT or STEM OPT.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored healthcare analyst jobs in Illinois?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
