Which companies sponsor visas for IT analysts in Illinois?
Large consulting firms with Chicago offices, including Accenture, Deloitte, and Cognizant, are among the most consistent sponsors for IT analyst roles in Illinois. Major corporations headquartered in the state, such as United Airlines, Allstate, and Walgreens Boots Alliance, also file H-1B visa petitions for IT analyst positions. The H-1B is the most common visa category for IT analyst roles in Illinois, as the position typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field. Some candidates already in the U.S. on F-1 OPT or STEM OPT also transition into sponsored roles. L-1B intracompany transferee visas appear for IT analysts moving within multinational firms that have Illinois offices.

Chicago accounts for the overwhelming majority of IT analyst visa sponsorship activity in Illinois. The downtown Loop, River North, and the Fulton Market tech corridor are where most sponsored roles are concentrated. Department of Labor prevailing wage determinations for IT analyst roles in the Chicago metropolitan area reflect the local cost of labor and apply to all H-1B filings in the region.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored it analyst jobs in Illinois?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
