Which companies sponsor visas for logistics roles in Illinois?
Several large employers with significant Illinois operations have sponsored H-1B visas for logistics and supply chain roles. These include Amazon (multiple Chicagoland fulfillment centers), C.H. Robinson (regional offices), Echo Global Logistics (headquartered in Chicago), XPO Logistics, and Coyote Logistics. Third-party logistics providers and freight brokerage firms in the Chicago area represent a consistent source of sponsorship activity in this field.
Which visa types are most common for logistics roles in Illinois?
The H-1B visa is the most common pathway for international logistics professionals in Illinois, particularly for roles like supply chain analyst, operations research analyst, and logistics engineer that require a relevant bachelor's degree. The TN visa is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying management or engineering roles. The L-1 visa applies to employees transferring from a foreign office of the same company to an Illinois location.
Which cities in Illinois have the most logistics visa sponsorship jobs?
Chicago and its surrounding suburbs account for the vast majority of logistics sponsorship opportunities in Illinois. The I-55 and I-80 corridors through Will and DuPage counties host major distribution and warehouse operations. Joliet, Bolingbrook, and Elgin have grown as logistics employment centers due to their proximity to major interstates and rail yards. Rockford also has activity tied to its cargo airport.
How to find logistics visa sponsorship jobs in Illinois?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically to roles where employers are open to visa sponsorship, making it straightforward to browse logistics positions in Illinois without sorting through companies that won't sponsor. You can filter by role type and state to find supply chain, freight, and operations positions at Illinois-based employers. This is especially useful for narrowing your search to companies with a documented history of H-1B sponsorship in the logistics sector.
Are there any Illinois-specific considerations for logistics visa sponsorship candidates?
Illinois employers filing H-1B petitions for logistics roles must meet the Department of Labor's prevailing wage requirements for the Chicago-Naperville-Elgin metropolitan area, which typically reflects a competitive regional wage standard. Candidates with degrees in supply chain management, industrial engineering, or operations research from Illinois universities such as Northwestern, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, or DePaul may find their credentials recognized by regional employers already familiar with those programs.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored logistics jobs in Illinois?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
