Which companies sponsor visas for logistics roles in Utah?
Amazon operates large fulfillment and delivery operations across the Wasatch Front and has an established track record of H-1B sponsorship for logistics and supply chain roles. C.H. Robinson, Sysco Utah, and Kenco Group also have a presence in the state. Larger national 3PLs and retail distribution operators are generally more likely to sponsor than smaller regional carriers or local freight brokers.
Which visa types are most common for logistics roles in Utah?
The H-1B is the most common visa for logistics professionals in roles that qualify as specialty occupations, such as supply chain analysts, operations research analysts, and logistics engineers. These positions typically require a bachelor's degree in a relevant field like industrial engineering, supply chain management, or logistics. General warehouse management or dispatcher roles are less likely to qualify under the specialty occupation standard.
Which cities in Utah have the most logistics sponsorship jobs?
Salt Lake City and its surrounding metro, including West Valley City, Murray, and Sandy, account for the largest concentration of logistics employers and sponsorship activity in Utah. Ogden and Provo also have meaningful distribution and freight infrastructure. The Inland Port development in Salt Lake City is expanding warehousing and intermodal capacity, which is drawing additional logistics operations to the region.
How to find logistics visa sponsorship jobs in Utah?
Migrate Mate filters logistics jobs in Utah specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can focus on employers already open to international candidates rather than applying broadly and asking later. Search for roles like supply chain analyst, logistics coordinator, or operations analyst on Migrate Mate and filter to Utah. Targeting employers with existing H-1B filing histories in the state improves your odds meaningfully.
Are there any state-specific considerations for logistics professionals seeking sponsorship in Utah?
Utah's logistics sector benefits from its position as a regional distribution hub between the West Coast and Mountain West, which has attracted national employers with more formalized HR and immigration infrastructure. The University of Utah and Utah State University produce supply chain graduates who sometimes transition into sponsored roles locally. Employers filing Labor Condition Applications must meet DOL prevailing wage requirements for the specific role and geographic area, which are tied to Salt Lake City or Ogden metro wage data depending on the worksite location.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored logistics jobs in Utah?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
