Which companies sponsor visas for logistics roles in New Jersey?
Large multinational employers with New Jersey operations are the most consistent sponsors. Companies like Amazon, Maersk, XPO Logistics, Kuehne+Nagel, DB Schenker, and Geodis have histories of filing H-1B petitions for logistics and supply chain roles. Port-adjacent freight forwarders and third-party logistics firms near Newark and Elizabeth also sponsor, though less predictably than enterprise-scale employers.
Which visa types are most common for logistics roles in New Jersey?
The H-1B is the most common visa for logistics professionals in New Jersey, particularly for supply chain analysts, operations managers, and logistics engineers where a relevant bachelor's degree is required. TN visas apply to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying roles. Some senior or specialized positions may qualify for the O-1 or EB-1C categories through multinational employer transfers.
Which cities in New Jersey have the most logistics sponsorship jobs?
Newark and Elizabeth lead due to their proximity to Port Newark-Elizabeth Marine Terminal, one of the busiest container ports on the East Coast. Edison, Parsippany, and Woodbridge are secondary hubs with significant warehousing and distribution operations. The I-95 and I-78 corridors running through central and northern New Jersey concentrate a large share of the state's logistics employer base.
How to find logistics visa sponsorship jobs in New Jersey?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters logistics roles in New Jersey by visa sponsorship history, so you're not wasting time on employers who don't sponsor. The platform surfaces supply chain, freight, and operations roles from companies that have filed H-1B petitions before. Filtering by New Jersey and the logistics category gives you a targeted view of active sponsoring employers in this market.
Are there any state-specific considerations for logistics visa sponsorship in New Jersey?
New Jersey's prevailing wage requirements are tied to DOL-designated wage levels for the Newark metropolitan area, which covers most of the state. Logistics roles classified as specialty occupations must meet these benchmarks for H-1B approval. The state's dense freight infrastructure also means many roles are tied to physical location requirements, which affects remote or hybrid work arrangements that some visa categories require employers to document carefully.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored logistics jobs in New Jersey?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
