Which companies sponsor visas for logistics roles in North Dakota?
Established logistics and distribution employers in North Dakota with histories of visa sponsorship include Cass Information Systems and larger freight and supply chain firms headquartered in Fargo. Agricultural logistics companies tied to the state's grain and commodity sectors also hire internationally for operations and analyst roles. Sponsorship availability depends heavily on the specific role, the employer's size, and whether the position qualifies as a specialty occupation.
Which visa types are most common for logistics roles in North Dakota?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa for logistics professionals in roles requiring at least a bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, engineering, or a related field, such as supply chain analysts or operations managers. The TN visa is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying professional categories. Roles that are primarily manual, supervisory without a degree requirement, or operational may not qualify for specialty occupation classification.
Which cities in North Dakota have the most logistics sponsorship jobs?
Fargo is the primary hub for logistics employment in North Dakota, home to the state's largest concentration of corporate offices, distribution centers, and supply chain firms. Bismarck and Grand Forks have smaller but active logistics markets tied to government supply chains and regional distribution. Williston, driven by energy sector activity, also generates demand for logistics and transportation coordination professionals.
How to find logistics visa sponsorship jobs in North Dakota?
Migrate Mate aggregates visa sponsorship jobs specifically for international job seekers, including logistics roles in North Dakota. You can filter by state and role type to find employers actively open to sponsoring H-1B or other work visas. Because North Dakota's sponsorship market is smaller than coastal states, setting up alerts for new postings and targeting Fargo-based employers gives you the best chance of identifying relevant openings quickly.
Are there state-specific considerations for logistics visa sponsorship in North Dakota?
North Dakota's logistics hiring is closely tied to agricultural cycles and energy production, meaning demand for operations and supply chain roles can be seasonal or project-driven. The state's relatively small population means fewer employers sponsor visas compared to major metro states, so competition for available sponsored roles can be meaningful. Employers filing H-1B petitions must pay the Department of Labor's prevailing wage for the specific occupation and geographic area, which in North Dakota reflects regional market rates.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored logistics jobs in North Dakota?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
