Which companies sponsor visas for logistics roles in Washington?
Amazon is the largest sponsor of logistics and supply chain roles in Washington, with significant operations across Seattle and surrounding fulfillment centers. Boeing sponsors logistics and materials management positions tied to aerospace manufacturing in Renton and Everett. Costco, based in Issaquah, and NWSA (Northwest Seaport Alliance) also have documented sponsorship histories for supply chain and operations roles.
Which visa types are most common for logistics roles in Washington?
The H-1B is the most common visa for logistics roles requiring a bachelor's degree in supply chain management, industrial engineering, or operations research. Positions like supply chain analyst, logistics engineer, and demand planner typically qualify as specialty occupations. The TN visa is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying management or engineering-adjacent logistics roles under USMCA.
Which cities in Washington have the most logistics sponsorship jobs?
Seattle and Bellevue lead in corporate logistics and supply chain roles, driven by Amazon's headquarters and regional tech-sector distribution operations. Tacoma is central to port-side freight, customs, and trade logistics given its status as one of the West Coast's busiest container ports. Renton and Everett see demand for aerospace logistics roles tied to Boeing's manufacturing facilities.
How to find logistics visa sponsorship jobs in Washington?
Migrate Mate filters logistics jobs in Washington specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you're not manually screening hundreds of postings. Search for roles like supply chain analyst, logistics coordinator, or operations manager filtered to Washington state. Migrate Mate's job board surfaces employers with active sponsorship histories, which is particularly useful in Washington given the breadth of employers across ports, aerospace, and e-commerce.
Are there state-specific considerations for logistics sponsorship jobs in Washington?
Washington's logistics market is shaped by three distinct industry clusters: e-commerce and fulfillment centered on Amazon, aerospace supply chains tied to Boeing, and port-side trade logistics through Seattle and Tacoma. Candidates with degrees in supply chain, industrial engineering, or operations research align well with H-1B specialty occupation standards in these sectors. University of Washington graduates in supply chain and engineering are a recognized pipeline for regional employers.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored logistics jobs in Washington?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
