Which companies sponsor visas for logistics roles in Massachusetts?
Amazon, XPO Logistics, UPS, FedEx, and DHL have sponsored international workers for logistics roles in Massachusetts. Biotech and pharmaceutical companies such as Biogen and Pfizer's distribution arms also sponsor supply chain positions in the state. Larger companies with established HR and legal infrastructure are generally more likely to initiate and manage the sponsorship process than smaller freight brokers or regional carriers.
Which visa types are most common for logistics roles in Massachusetts?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa for logistics roles requiring a bachelor's degree in supply chain management, industrial engineering, or operations research. Roles such as logistics analyst, supply chain planner, and operations manager often qualify as specialty occupations. TN visas cover Canadian and Mexican nationals in certain management and engineering categories. The EB-3 employment-based green card is also pursued by some logistics employers for longer-term sponsorship.
Which cities in Massachusetts have the most logistics sponsorship jobs?
Boston leads in logistics sponsorship activity, particularly for corporate supply chain and operations roles tied to the region's biotech and healthcare sectors. Worcester is an emerging hub for distribution and warehouse operations given its central location and highway access. Springfield and the Pioneer Valley corridor see activity from manufacturing and regional distribution employers. Positions near Boston Logan International Airport and the Conley Container Terminal also generate consistent logistics hiring.
How to find logistics visa sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts?
Migrate Mate filters logistics jobs in Massachusetts specifically by visa sponsorship, so you're not sifting through postings that won't support international candidates. You can search by role type across supply chain, freight, and operations categories. Because Massachusetts has a strong concentration of biotech distribution and port-adjacent employers, narrowing your search by city or industry vertical on Migrate Mate helps identify the most relevant sponsoring companies faster.
Are there any state-specific considerations for logistics sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts?
Massachusetts enforces the federal prevailing wage requirements tied to H-1B sponsorship, and employers must file a Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor before petitioning USCIS. The state's high cost of living in Greater Boston can influence how employers benchmark wages. Massachusetts also has a significant university pipeline through schools like MIT and Northeastern, which means some logistics roles are filled via OPT transitions before full H-1B sponsorship is pursued.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored logistics jobs in Massachusetts?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
