Which companies sponsor visas for supply chain operations roles in Illinois?
Several large Illinois employers have established records of sponsoring work visas for supply chain operations professionals. Companies including Caterpillar, Abbott Laboratories, Mondelez International, Walgreens, and Amazon's logistics division have filed H-1B Labor Condition Applications for supply chain and operations roles. Consulting firms like Accenture and Deloitte, which staff supply chain projects across Illinois, also sponsor internationally.
Which visa types are most common for supply chain operations roles in Illinois?
The H-1B is the most commonly sponsored visa for supply chain operations roles in Illinois, particularly for positions requiring a bachelor's degree in supply chain management, industrial engineering, or operations research. TN visas are available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering or management science roles. Candidates with exceptional records may pursue the O-1, though it is comparatively rare in this field.
Which cities in Illinois have the most supply chain operations sponsorship jobs?
Chicago accounts for the largest share of supply chain operations sponsorship jobs in Illinois, driven by its corporate headquarters concentration and proximity to O'Hare International Airport. The I-55 corridor cities of Joliet, Bolingbrook, and Aurora are major distribution and warehousing hubs. Peoria sees demand tied to Caterpillar's global operations, and Deerfield and North Chicago attract pharmaceutical supply chain roles through Abbott and Baxter International.
How to find supply chain operations visa sponsorship jobs in Illinois?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates searching for visa sponsorship jobs, including supply chain operations roles in Illinois. You can filter by state and role to surface employers with verified sponsorship history. Focusing your search on companies with established operations in Chicago's logistics corridor or along the I-55 distribution belt will give you the most relevant results for sponsored positions.
Are there any Illinois-specific factors that affect supply chain operations sponsorship hiring?
Illinois's Department of Employment Security prevailing wage data influences what employers must pay sponsored workers in supply chain operations roles, which can affect smaller regional employers more than large multinationals. The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Northwestern University produce strong supply chain talent pipelines, meaning some employers already have experience navigating OPT-to-H-1B transitions. Illinois's status as a major freight and intermodal hub sustains consistent year-round hiring in this field.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored supply chain operations jobs in Illinois?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
