Which companies in Indiana sponsor visas for cloud engineers?
Salesforce, Eli Lilly, Cummins, and Anthem (now Elevance Health) have established sponsorship histories for cloud engineering roles in Indiana. Financial technology firms in Indianapolis and large manufacturers modernizing their infrastructure are also active sponsors. Because sponsorship activity shifts with hiring cycles, reviewing recent H-1B disclosure data through the Department of Labor's public records gives the most current picture.
Which visa types are most common for cloud engineer roles in Indiana?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for cloud engineers in Indiana, as the role consistently qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, information technology, or a related field. Candidates already holding L-1B status through a multinational employer or pursuing O-1 classification for demonstrated expertise in cloud architecture are additional pathways, though H-1B remains the primary route.
Which cities in Indiana have the most cloud engineer sponsorship jobs?
Indianapolis accounts for the large majority of cloud engineer sponsorship activity in Indiana, driven by its concentration of insurance, healthcare, and financial services employers with enterprise cloud programs. Bloomington sees some activity tied to Indiana University's research computing needs, and Fort Wayne has a smaller but growing presence from regional manufacturing firms investing in cloud-based operations and supply chain technology.
How to find cloud engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Indiana?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for roles where employers have demonstrated sponsorship willingness, making it straightforward to identify cloud engineer openings in Indiana without manually screening every posting. You can narrow results by location and role type to focus on Indianapolis-area positions or target specific employers in healthcare, fintech, or manufacturing, which are the sectors most actively hiring sponsored cloud talent in the state.
Are there state-specific factors cloud engineers should know before pursuing Indiana sponsorship roles?
Indiana does not have a state income tax surcharge unique to sponsored workers, but cloud engineers should be aware that prevailing wage requirements under H-1B rules are determined by the metropolitan statistical area of employment, so Indianapolis-area roles carry different wage floors than positions in smaller markets like Muncie or Terre Haute. Indiana University and Purdue University also supply a consistent pipeline of international graduates into the local tech market, which can increase competition for available sponsored positions.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored cloud engineer jobs in Indiana?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
