Which companies sponsor visas for cloud engineers in Texas?
Several large employers in Texas have established records of sponsoring work visas for cloud engineers. Dell Technologies in Round Rock, AT&T and Texas Instruments in Dallas, and Amazon Web Services across the Austin metro are among the more active sponsors. Major consulting firms including Accenture and Infosys, which have significant Texas operations, also file H-1B visa petitions regularly for cloud engineering roles.
Which visa types are most common for cloud engineer roles in Texas?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for cloud engineers in Texas, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field. Candidates from Canada and Mexico may qualify for TN visa status under the USMCA. Australians can pursue the E-3 visa. L-1B visas apply when an engineer transfers from a foreign affiliated office to a Texas location.
Which cities in Texas have the most cloud engineer sponsorship jobs?
Austin leads the state for cloud engineering sponsorship volume, driven by a concentration of tech employers and headquarters. Dallas and its suburbs, particularly Plano and Irving, are home to major financial services and telecom firms that hire cloud engineers at scale. Houston adds demand from the energy sector, where oil and gas companies are actively migrating infrastructure to cloud platforms. San Antonio has a growing cybersecurity and defense tech presence as well.
How to find cloud engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can browse cloud engineer roles in Texas without sorting through positions that won't support international candidates. The platform covers openings across Austin, Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio, and listings are tagged by employer and visa type where available. Searching by role and state on Migrate Mate is the most direct way to identify Texas employers actively sponsoring cloud engineers.
Are there any Texas-specific factors cloud engineers should know about visa sponsorship?
Texas has no state income tax, which affects prevailing wage comparisons since take-home pay differs from states like California or New York at the same gross salary. The H-1B prevailing wage for cloud engineers is determined by the Department of Labor using the metropolitan statistical area where work is performed, so Austin, Dallas, and Houston each have separate wage tiers. Texas also has several large university systems, including UT Austin and Texas A&M, whose graduates feed directly into the state's tech hiring pipeline.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored cloud engineer jobs in Texas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
