Which companies in Indiana sponsor visas for data science managers?
Eli Lilly, Salesforce, Cummins, Anthem (now Elevance Health), and Corteva Agriscience are among the Indiana employers with documented H-1B visa sponsorship histories for data science and analytics leadership roles. Large healthcare systems like Indiana University Health and Ascension also hire data science managers and have sponsored visas for specialized technical positions. Sponsorship availability varies by role and hiring cycle, so confirming directly with each employer is important.
Which visa types are most common for data science manager roles in Indiana?
The H-1B visa is the most common pathway for data science managers in Indiana, as these roles typically require a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, statistics, mathematics, or a related field, meeting the specialty occupation standard. Candidates already holding L-1A visas through intracompany transfers may also move into managerial data science positions. Those with extraordinary ability in data science may qualify for the O-1A, though this is less frequently pursued for management-track roles.
Which cities in Indiana have the most data science manager sponsorship jobs?
Indianapolis concentrates the majority of Indiana's data science manager sponsorship activity, driven by its life sciences corridor, health insurance sector, and growing tech presence. Bloomington has demand tied to Indiana University's research operations and affiliated employers. West Lafayette sees some activity near Purdue University, particularly from companies with university partnerships or R&D functions. Outside these three cities, data science manager sponsorship opportunities are relatively limited.
How to find data science manager visa sponsorship jobs in Indiana?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship and filters data science manager roles in Indiana by employers with active sponsorship histories. Rather than sorting through general job postings with no sponsorship information, Migrate Mate surfaces positions from companies that have demonstrated willingness to sponsor work visas, making it a more efficient starting point for candidates in this field targeting Indiana employers.
Are there any Indiana-specific considerations for data science manager candidates seeking sponsorship?
Indiana's dominant sponsorship industries for this role are life sciences, health insurance, and agribusiness, so candidates with domain experience in those sectors are better positioned with local employers. Purdue and Indiana University produce strong local talent pipelines, which means competition for roles at university-affiliated employers can be high. The H-1B prevailing wage requirements apply at the Indiana-specific wage level for the relevant SOC code, which employers must meet regardless of company size or industry.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored data science manager jobs in Indiana?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
