Which companies in Massachusetts sponsor visas for data science managers?
Boston-area employers with consistent H-1B visa sponsorship histories for data science manager roles include Amazon (with a major hub in Boston), Wayfair, MathWorks, HubSpot, and Liberty Mutual. The life sciences and biotech sector, including companies like Biogen and Moderna, also sponsors data science leadership positions. Academic medical centers such as Mass General Brigham and Beth Israel Deaconess regularly sponsor technical management roles tied to clinical research and informatics.
What visa types are most common for data science manager roles in Massachusetts?
The H-1B is the most common visa for data science managers in Massachusetts, given the role's typical requirement for a bachelor's or advanced degree in a quantitative or technical field. Employers also use the O-1A for candidates with demonstrable recognition in data science. Those transitioning from academic or research institutions may enter through J-1 visa before employer sponsorship, though the O-1A and H-1B remain the primary pathways for management-level roles.
Which cities in Massachusetts have the most data science manager sponsorship jobs?
Boston and Cambridge account for the largest share of data science manager sponsorship activity in Massachusetts, driven by tech companies, financial services firms, and the Kendall Square biotech cluster. The Route 128 corridor, covering Burlington, Waltham, and Lexington, is a secondary hub with significant employer density in software and defense technology. Worcester has a smaller but growing presence through UMass Medical and regional health systems.
How to find data science manager visa sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to browse data science manager openings in Massachusetts without sorting through roles that don't offer sponsorship. You can filter by state and job title to surface positions from Boston-area tech firms, life sciences employers, and financial services companies that have active sponsorship programs for data science management roles.
Are there any Massachusetts-specific factors that affect visa sponsorship for data science managers?
Massachusetts employers filing H-1B petitions for data science managers must meet Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements for the Boston metropolitan area, which are set at higher levels than many other U.S. regions given the local cost of living and market rates. The state's concentration of research universities, including MIT, Harvard, and Northeastern, creates a strong candidate pipeline that employers are accustomed to sponsoring, meaning many mid-to-large Massachusetts employers have established immigration processes already in place.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored data science manager jobs in Massachusetts?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
