Which companies sponsor visas for data science managers in Ohio?
Several large Ohio-based employers have established records of sponsoring work visas for data science managers. These include JPMorgan Chase and KeyBank in financial services, Nationwide and Progressive Insurance in insurance, Procter & Gamble and Kroger in consumer goods, and major health systems like Cleveland Clinic and OhioHealth. Large tech-adjacent firms and consulting practices with Ohio offices also sponsor regularly for senior analytics roles.
Which visa types are most common for data science manager roles in Ohio?
The H-1B is the most common visa for data science managers in Ohio, as the role consistently qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a related bachelor's degree or higher. Candidates already holding L-1A or L-1B status through a multinational employer may transfer into Ohio-based positions. Those with extraordinary ability or national interest waiver eligibility may pursue O-1 or EB-2 NIW pathways, though these require substantial documentation.
Which cities in Ohio have the most data science manager sponsorship jobs?
Columbus leads Ohio for data science manager sponsorship activity, driven by its concentration of financial services, insurance, and retail headquarters. Cleveland is a strong second, particularly through its large healthcare systems and banking institutions. Cincinnati generates demand from consumer goods companies, notably Procter & Gamble. Smaller markets like Dayton and Akron offer occasional opportunities through manufacturing and regional healthcare employers.
How to find data science manager visa sponsorship jobs in Ohio?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to browse data science manager roles in Ohio without sifting through positions that don't offer sponsorship. You can narrow results by city, industry, and role level. Because Ohio's sponsoring employers span financial services, insurance, and healthcare, filtering by sector on Migrate Mate helps you target the industries most actively hiring at the manager level.
Are there state-specific or role-specific considerations for data science manager sponsorship in Ohio?
Ohio does not impose state-level visa requirements beyond federal standards, but employers must meet Department of Labor prevailing wage obligations when filing an H-1B Labor Condition Application for a data science manager role. Ohio's large public universities, including Ohio State and Case Western Reserve, contribute a pipeline of international graduate talent that some employers actively recruit into management tracks. Employers in regulated industries like banking and insurance may have additional internal compliance review before extending sponsorship offers.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored data science manager jobs in Ohio?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
