Which companies sponsor visas for system administrators in Indiana?
Indiana's largest H-1B sponsors for system administrator roles include Indiana University Health, Eli Lilly, Salesforce (Indianapolis office), Cummins, and major university IT departments such as Purdue University and Indiana University Bloomington. Healthcare systems and manufacturing conglomerates with large IT infrastructure teams file LCAs regularly, making them reliable sponsorship sources for qualified candidates.
Which visa types are most common for system administrator roles in Indiana?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for system administrator positions in Indiana, provided the role requires a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as information technology, computer science, or network administration. Some candidates enter through L-1B intracompany transferee visas if relocating within a multinational employer. TN visas apply to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying IT roles.
Which cities in Indiana have the most system administrator sponsorship jobs?
Indianapolis accounts for the largest share of system administrator sponsorship activity in Indiana, driven by its concentration of healthcare systems, financial services firms, and tech employers. Fort Wayne and South Bend offer secondary markets with manufacturing and regional healthcare IT operations. University towns like West Lafayette and Bloomington generate consistent demand through campus IT infrastructure roles.
How to find system administrator visa sponsorship jobs in Indiana?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship, so you can search system administrator roles in Indiana without sorting through positions that won't support international candidates. Migrate Mate surfaces employers actively filing LCAs for IT infrastructure roles across Indianapolis, Fort Wayne, and university markets, letting you focus applications on companies with a demonstrated history of H-1B sponsorship for this role type.
Are there any Indiana-specific considerations for system administrator visa sponsorship?
Indiana's prevailing wage requirements for system administrator roles are benchmarked to Department of Labor wage levels for the relevant SOC code and county. Indianapolis metro wages are higher than rural Indiana, which affects the LCA your employer files. Candidates coming through Indiana's major university pipelines, particularly Purdue and IU, often have stronger employer networks in the state's manufacturing and life sciences sectors.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored system administrator jobs in Indiana?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
