Which healthcare companies sponsor H-1B1 Chile visas in Iowa?
Iowa's largest healthcare employers with documented H-1B visa sponsorship history include University of Iowa Health Care, UnityPoint Health, MercyOne, and Hy-Vee's pharmacy and health divisions. Academic medical centers affiliated with the University of Iowa are particularly active sponsors, as they regularly recruit internationally for specialty physician, research, and advanced practice roles that qualify as specialty occupations under H-1B1 Chile criteria.
Which cities in Iowa have the most healthcare H-1B1 Chile sponsorship jobs?
Iowa City leads for academic and research-oriented healthcare roles due to the University of Iowa Health Care system and its affiliated colleges of medicine and public health. Des Moines concentrates the most overall healthcare employment through UnityPoint Health and MercyOne's flagship hospitals. Cedar Rapids and Davenport also offer meaningful opportunities, particularly in hospital-based specialty care, rehabilitation services, and diagnostic imaging.
What types of healthcare roles typically qualify for H-1B1 Chile sponsorship?
Roles that typically qualify as specialty occupations include physicians, surgeons, dentists, pharmacists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, clinical psychologists, medical researchers, biomedical engineers, and health informatics specialists. Positions requiring at minimum a U.S. bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in a directly related field are eligible. General nursing roles classified as registered nurses may face additional scrutiny, as specialty occupation status depends on the specific duties and degree requirement.
How do I find healthcare H-1B1 Chile sponsorship jobs in Iowa?
Migrate Mate lets you filter job listings specifically by H-1B1 Chile visa sponsorship and by industry, so you can identify Iowa healthcare employers who have demonstrated sponsorship activity through DOL Labor Condition Application filings. Searching Migrate Mate for healthcare roles in Iowa surfaces verified sponsorship history by employer and occupation, which removes the guesswork of cold-applying to companies that may not support H-1B1 Chile candidates in your specific role.
Are there state-specific considerations for H-1B1 Chile healthcare sponsorship in Iowa?
Iowa does not impose additional state-level visa sponsorship requirements beyond federal H-1B1 rules, but healthcare professionals must meet Iowa state licensure requirements for their specific occupation before practicing. For example, physicians need Iowa Board of Medicine licensure, and pharmacists require Iowa Board of Pharmacy approval. Employers typically require evidence of licensure eligibility before initiating or completing the H-1B1 Chile petition process, so confirming state credential pathways early is important.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B1 Chile healthcare jobs in Iowa?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
