Which companies sponsor visas for product analysts in Iowa?
Principal Financial Group and Transamerica in Des Moines are among the most active sponsors for data and product roles in Iowa's financial services sector. Wells Fargo's Des Moines operations and technology firms in the greater metro area have also filed Labor Condition Applications for product analyst positions. Sponsorship frequency varies by hiring cycle, so checking recent LCA filings gives the clearest picture of active sponsors.
Which visa types are most common for product analyst roles in Iowa?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa for product analysts in Iowa, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a quantitative or technical field such as statistics, computer science, or economics. Some candidates already holding OPT or STEM OPT authorization join Iowa employers before transitioning to H-1B sponsorship. The L-1B is occasionally used when a candidate transfers from an overseas office of a multinational employer.
Which cities in Iowa have the most product analyst sponsorship jobs?
Des Moines accounts for the large majority of product analyst sponsorship activity in Iowa, driven by its concentration of insurance carriers, financial services firms, and regional tech operations. Cedar Rapids has a smaller but present hiring market, particularly within insurance and manufacturing technology companies. Iowa City sees some demand tied to University of Iowa-affiliated healthcare and research organizations, though the volume is notably lower than Des Moines.
How to find product analyst visa sponsorship jobs in Iowa?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship and lets you filter product analyst roles by state, so you can browse Iowa-specific opportunities without sifting through positions that don't offer sponsorship. Because Iowa's market is smaller than coastal tech hubs, checking Migrate Mate regularly as new roles are posted gives you an advantage in a market where sponsoring openings appear less frequently but competition can also be lower.
Are there state-specific considerations for product analysts pursuing sponsorship in Iowa?
Iowa's prevailing wage requirements for H-1B product analyst roles are determined by the Department of Labor using Des Moines or Cedar Rapids wage data, which generally reflects a lower cost-of-living market compared to coastal cities. University of Iowa and Iowa State University generate a pipeline of international graduates in data science and statistics who often seek local sponsorship. Employers in Iowa's insurance and agribusiness sectors may have less established international hiring infrastructure than large tech companies, so confirming a company's prior sponsorship history before applying is worthwhile.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored product analyst jobs in Iowa?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
