Which companies in Iowa sponsor visas for project management leads?
Principal Financial Group, Collins Aerospace, John Deere, Rockwell Collins, and UnityPoint Health are among Iowa employers with documented H-1B sponsorship histories for project management roles. Des Moines-based insurance and financial services firms sponsor regularly for enterprise project leads, while Cedar Rapids manufacturing and aerospace companies sponsor for operations and engineering program management positions.
Which visa types are most common for project management lead roles in Iowa?
The H-1B is the most common visa for project management leads in Iowa, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field. Candidates with multinational employer backgrounds may also qualify for the L-1A intracompany transferee visa if moving into a managerial capacity within the same corporate family.
Which cities in Iowa have the most project management lead sponsorship jobs?
Des Moines accounts for the largest share of project management lead sponsorship opportunities in Iowa, driven by its concentration of insurance, financial services, and healthcare employers. Cedar Rapids is a strong secondary market, particularly for manufacturing and aerospace program management roles. Iowa City sees demand tied to the University of Iowa Health Care system and affiliated research operations.
How to find project management lead visa sponsorship jobs in Iowa?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for roles that include visa sponsorship, making it straightforward to identify project management lead openings in Iowa without sorting through positions that don't support international candidates. You can narrow results by state and role to surface active listings from Iowa employers in manufacturing, financial services, healthcare, and agribusiness who have sponsored H-1B workers for project leadership positions.
Are there state-specific considerations for project management leads pursuing sponsorship in Iowa?
Iowa employers filing H-1B petitions for project management leads must meet Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements for the Des Moines or Cedar Rapids metropolitan areas, which differ from national averages. Iowa's lower cost of living means prevailing wages are often lower than coastal markets, which can make it easier for mid-sized Iowa employers to meet wage compliance requirements compared to sponsoring the same role in major metro markets.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored project management lead jobs in Iowa?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
