Which companies sponsor visas for construction superintendents in Kansas?
Crossland Construction, based in Columbus, Kansas, is one of the more active regional contractors with a history of hiring experienced project leadership. Nabholz Corporation and national firms like Turner Construction and Hensel Phelps also operate in Kansas and have sponsored construction superintendents through H-1B and EB-3 pathways. Large public infrastructure projects tied to federal contracts often attract contractors with established sponsorship programs.
Which visa types are most common for construction superintendent roles in Kansas?
The H-1B visa is available for construction superintendent roles where the position is classified as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field. The EB-3 employment-based immigrant visa is another pathway employers use, particularly for roles filled through PERM labor certification. Candidates without a four-year degree may face additional scrutiny under H-1B, making the EB-3 route more relevant in some cases.
Which cities in Kansas have the most construction superintendent sponsorship jobs?
Kansas City, Kansas anchors most of the state's sponsored construction activity, benefiting from cross-border projects with the Missouri side of the metro and major commercial development. Wichita follows, driven by industrial construction tied to its aerospace manufacturing base and distribution infrastructure. Topeka sees activity around government and healthcare facility projects. Smaller markets like Overland Park and Lenexa are active in commercial and mixed-use development.
How to find construction superintendent visa sponsorship jobs in Kansas?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters construction superintendent roles in Kansas by visa sponsorship availability, so you're not sorting through listings that won't support your work authorization. The platform surfaces employers who have sponsored visas in this field, which is particularly useful given that sponsorship willingness varies significantly between Kansas contractors. Searching by role and state on Migrate Mate reduces time spent on outreach to employers unlikely to sponsor.
Are there state-specific considerations for construction superintendent sponsorship in Kansas?
Kansas does not have a state income tax on wages from out-of-state sources for nonresidents in limited situations, but sponsored workers residing in Kansas are subject to state income tax. More relevant for sponsorship is the Department of Labor's prevailing wage requirement under H-1B, which requires employers to pay the wage rate established for construction superintendent roles in the specific Kansas county or metropolitan area where work is performed. Project-based roles that move across counties can complicate prevailing wage compliance.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored construction superintendent jobs in Kansas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
