Which companies sponsor visas for construction superintendents in Wisconsin?
Wisconsin-based general contractors and construction management firms are the most active sponsors for superintendent roles. Companies like Miron Construction, J.H. Findorff & Son, Gilbane Building Company, and Boldt Construction have histories of hiring experienced site leaders for complex commercial, healthcare, and industrial projects. National firms operating in Wisconsin, including Turner Construction and Mortenson, have also filed for work authorization on behalf of superintendents managing large regional projects.
Which visa types are most common for construction superintendent roles in Wisconsin?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa path for construction superintendents, provided the role requires at least a bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field. The EB-3 employment-based green card is another route employers pursue for experienced superintendents they intend to retain long-term. TN visas are available to qualified Canadian and Mexican nationals whose roles align with the eligible profession categories under the USMCA agreement.
Which cities in Wisconsin have the most construction superintendent sponsorship jobs?
Milwaukee generates the highest volume of construction superintendent opportunities in Wisconsin, driven by ongoing urban development, hospital expansions, and mixed-use projects. Madison follows closely, with significant activity tied to University of Wisconsin campus projects, state government construction, and a growing commercial sector. Green Bay and Appleton also see consistent demand, particularly for industrial and manufacturing facility construction tied to the Fox Valley corridor.
How to find construction superintendent visa sponsorship jobs in Wisconsin?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find construction superintendent visa sponsorship jobs in Wisconsin, with listings filtered specifically for roles where employers are open to sponsoring work visas. Because superintendent positions require demonstrated site leadership experience, your profile should highlight project types, team sizes managed, and trade coordination responsibilities. Filtering by Wisconsin on Migrate Mate surfaces both Milwaukee-area commercial projects and statewide infrastructure roles actively seeking international candidates.
Are there state-specific considerations for construction superintendents seeking visa sponsorship in Wisconsin?
Wisconsin follows federal prevailing wage requirements under the Davis-Bacon Act for publicly funded construction projects, which affects the wage level an employer must certify when filing an H-1B or PERM application on behalf of a superintendent. Wisconsin's construction season is heavily influenced by winter weather, so employers on state and municipal projects often structure hiring around spring start dates. Familiarity with Wisconsin building codes and cold-climate construction methods strengthens a candidate's profile with in-state employers.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored construction superintendent jobs in Wisconsin?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
