Which companies sponsor visas for financial accountants in Kansas?
Koch Industries (headquartered in Wichita) and its subsidiaries, Spirit AeroSystems, Evergy, and several regional healthcare systems have filed Labor Condition Applications for accounting roles in Kansas. Large agricultural firms and grain cooperatives in the state also employ financial accountants. Sponsorship activity is most consistent at large corporations and publicly traded companies rather than smaller regional firms.
Which visa types are most common for financial accountant roles in Kansas?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa for financial accountants in Kansas, since the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. Candidates with Canadian or Mexican citizenship may also pursue the TN visa under the USMCA, which covers accountants as a listed profession and does not require an annual lottery.
Which cities in Kansas have the most financial accountant sponsorship jobs?
Wichita accounts for the largest share of financial accountant sponsorship activity in Kansas, driven by its aerospace and manufacturing base. Kansas City (Kansas side) is the second main hub, with healthcare and financial services employers active there. Topeka, as the state capital, offers some opportunities through government contractors and regulated utilities, though volume is smaller than in Wichita or Kansas City.
How to find financial accountant visa sponsorship jobs in Kansas?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can search financial accountant roles in Kansas without sifting through positions that do not sponsor. The platform surfaces employers with a demonstrated history of H-1B and other work visa filings, which is particularly useful for targeting Wichita's manufacturing sector and the Kansas City metro's healthcare and corporate finance employers.
Are there any state-specific considerations for financial accountants seeking sponsorship in Kansas?
Kansas does not impose state-level licensing requirements specifically for financial accountants, though CPA licensure through the Kansas Board of Accountancy is relevant for senior or audit roles. Employers in Kansas must pay the Department of Labor prevailing wage for the specific metropolitan area when sponsoring an H-1B, and Wichita and Kansas City metro areas carry different prevailing wage determinations. University of Kansas and Wichita State University also serve as local hiring pipelines, meaning employers there are accustomed to sponsoring international graduates.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored financial accountant jobs in Kansas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
