Which companies sponsor visas for project accountants in Kansas?
Kansas-based sponsors for project accountant roles include Spirit AeroSystems in Wichita, large engineering and construction contractors operating in the Kansas City metro, and Koch Industries subsidiaries across the state. Healthcare systems such as The University of Kansas Health System and federal contractors with Midwest operations have also appeared in Department of Labor LCA filings for accounting-related positions requiring project-level financial oversight.
Which visa types are most common for project accountant roles in Kansas?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for project accountant positions in Kansas, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, satisfying the specialty occupation standard. TN visas are an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals with qualifying credentials. Employers with international operations occasionally use L-1B for intracompany transfers into project accounting functions.
Which cities in Kansas have the most project accountant sponsorship jobs?
Wichita generates the highest concentration of project accountant openings in Kansas, driven by its aerospace and manufacturing base. Overland Park and the broader Kansas City metro area follow closely, supported by construction management firms, corporate headquarters, and financial services companies. Topeka sees periodic demand through state government contractors and healthcare organizations with capital project portfolios.
How to find project accountant visa sponsorship jobs in Kansas?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to browse project accountant roles in Kansas without sorting through positions that don't offer sponsorship. You can search by role and state to surface employers actively filing Labor Condition Applications for accounting positions, which is a practical starting point for international candidates evaluating Kansas-based opportunities.
Are there state-specific considerations for project accountants seeking visa sponsorship in Kansas?
Kansas project accountants sponsored on H-1B visas must be paid at least the prevailing wage established by the Department of Labor for the specific occupation and geographic area, which differs between Wichita, the Kansas City metro, and more rural counties. The state's aerospace and construction sectors drive much of the demand, and candidates with experience in cost accounting for capital projects or government contracts tend to align well with what Kansas employers are actively hiring.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored project accountant jobs in Kansas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
