Which companies sponsor visas for project management consultants in Kansas?
Aerospace and defense contractors in Wichita, including Spirit AeroSystems and Textron Aviation, have sponsored project management roles. Koch Industries and its subsidiaries in Wichita also have a history of sponsoring skilled professionals. National consulting firms with Kansas City metro offices, such as those supporting healthcare, energy, and government IT projects, represent another category of active sponsors for project management consultants in the state.
Which visa types are most common for project management consultant roles in Kansas?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa for project management consultants in Kansas, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field. Candidates with multinational employer relationships may be eligible for the L-1 visa intracompany transferee visa. TN visa status is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals whose role and qualifications meet the specific treaty criteria.
Which cities in Kansas have the most project management consultant sponsorship jobs?
Wichita is the largest hiring hub, driven by its aerospace manufacturing base and the consulting firms that support it. Overland Park, in the Kansas City metro, has a strong concentration of technology, healthcare IT, and financial services employers that hire project management consultants. Topeka sees sponsorship activity primarily through state government and IT modernization contracts. Most H-1B disclosure data for Kansas is concentrated in these three metro areas.
How to find project management consultant visa sponsorship jobs in Kansas?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters project management consultant roles by visa sponsorship availability, so you can browse Kansas openings without sorting through positions that don't offer sponsorship. Focus your search on Wichita-area aerospace and defense employers and Overland Park-based consulting and technology firms, which collectively account for the majority of sponsored project management roles in Kansas. Migrate Mate surfaces current openings across both markets.
Are there state-specific factors that affect visa sponsorship for project management consultants in Kansas?
Kansas's aerospace and defense sector often involves security clearance requirements, which can complicate or limit sponsorship for foreign nationals on certain visa categories. Employers on federal contracts must comply with Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements for H-1B positions, which vary by metro area across the state. The University of Kansas and Wichita State University produce engineering and business graduates who sometimes transition to sponsored project management roles through OPT and STEM OPT extensions before pursuing H-1B sponsorship.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored project management consultant jobs in Kansas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
