The School of Media and Communication at Northern Kentucky University invites applications for part-time instructors with experience teaching communication studies (CMST 101 & CMST 110). We are seeking dynamic and engaged educators who are committed to student learning and success.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Teach 1-2 sections of public speaking (CMST 101) and/or introduction to communication studies (CMST 110) in a face-to-face format based on need.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- MA in Communication Studies by start of fall semester (or Master’s Degree with at least 18 hours in Communication).
- Demonstrated potential for effective teaching at the University level appropriate to assignment.
- Commitment to teaching a diverse student population.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- PhD in communication or related field.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION:
- Cover letter outlining teaching experience and experience
- Curriculum vita
- Names and contact information of at least three professional references
- Copy of transcript from institution awarding highest degree
- Evidence of teaching effectiveness, such as student evaluations or syllabi if available
Finalists will be required to submit official academic transcripts, as well as complete a background check. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis and kept on file for future openings.
Any candidate offered this position will be required to undergo a pre-employment criminal background check as mandated by state law.
