The Scharnetzki Research Laboratory at the MaineHealth Institute for Research is at the forefront of social psychological health research. Our research focuses on understanding how social and psychological experiences shape physical, mental, and behavioral health, particularly in contexts involving social evaluation, identity, and interpersonal interactions.
As a Research Associate II, you will perform a diverse range of responsibilities under the general supervision of Principal Investigator, Elizabeth Scharnetzki. This Research Associate II will conduct defined research projects with overall responsibility for inception, implementation and reporting of results in a peer-reviewed forum.
Other responsibilities include:
- Following training expectations as defined by projects.
- Collaborating and communicating with internal and external colleagues to work effectively.
- Assisting the PI with administrative duties, including compliance protocols and annual reviews.
This position is a hybrid role from our Scarborough, ME research facility.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required, master’s degree preferred.
- License/Certifications: N/A
- Experience: Six years of relevant experience required with a Bachelor’s, or four years with a Master’s. Demonstrates competency in all essential functions of Research Associate I – Non-Bench role.

The pay range for this position is $48,630.40 to $65,790.40 per year.
