SUMMARY

Drive equipment reliability, operational excellence, and process safety across the facility. As a Mechanical Integrity Manager, you will lead the Mechanical Integrity Program while overseeing inspection, testing, maintenance, and risk-based asset management strategies for fixed and rotating assets, including pressure vessels, piping systems, tanks, structural assets, and other critical process equipment. You will partner closely with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Environmental Health and Safety, and Capital Project teams to ensure regulatory compliance, optimize asset performance, and support safe, reliable operations. This role is ideal for a strategic, technically skilled leader who is passionate about asset integrity, risk reduction, continuous improvement, and developing high-performing teams that drive long-term operational success.

The salary range for this position is $114,000 - $170,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications with annual bonus available (variable depending on performance).

PRINCIPAL ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead and manage the site Mechanical Integrity Program to ensure compliance with company standards, OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) requirements, and industry best practices.
• Develop and execute inspection, testing, preventive maintenance, and risk mitigation strategies for pressure vessels, piping systems, storage tanks, relief devices, structural assets, and other critical equipment.
• Establish and maintain asset integrity management systems, inspection records, equipment history, and regulatory documentation.
• Coordinate internal and third-party inspections, including Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), thickness monitoring, vibration analysis, thermography, and other condition monitoring technologies.
• Manage Mechanical Integrity elements associated with Process Safety Management (PSM) and support compliance audits, risk assessments, and regulatory inspections.
• Lead root cause failure investigations involving equipment integrity events and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Develop risk-based inspection (RBI) and reliability strategies to optimize asset performance and extend equipment life cycles.
• Collaborate with Maintenance, Engineering, and Operations teams to prioritize critical repairs, replacements, and capital improvement projects.
• Provide technical expertise in equipment design, corrosion mechanisms, fitness-for-service evaluations, and mechanical reliability issues.
• Review engineering designs, equipment specifications, and modifications to ensure compliance with mechanical integrity requirements.
• Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to asset health, inspection compliance, equipment failures, and risk reduction.
• Manage mechanical integrity budgets and support long-range capital planning initiatives.
• Lead, mentor, and develop inspectors, engineers, reliability personnel, and maintenance professionals.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment reliability, process safety, cost reduction, and operational efficiency.
• Support Management of Change (MOC) processes by evaluating integrity impacts of equipment and process modifications.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Engineering Technology, Reliability Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in Mechanical Integrity, Reliability Engineering, Inspection, Maintenance, Asset Management, or related industrial manufacturing environments.
• Minimum of 3 years of leadership or supervisory experience.
• Strong working knowledge of OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) requirements and Mechanical Integrity programs.
• Experience with pressure vessels, piping systems, tanks, relief systems, rotating equipment, and fixed asset integrity management.
• Experience with inspection methodologies, including NDT techniques and condition-based monitoring technologies.
• Knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards, including ASME, API, NFPA, and related regulations.
• Experience conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and risk assessments.
• Strong project management, budgeting, and organizational skills.
• Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), preferably IBM Maximo.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Experience working in food manufacturing, poultry processing, chemical processing, refining, or other highly regulated industrial environments.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP).
• API Certifications (API 510, API 570, API 653, API 580, API 936, or equivalent).
• Certified Reliability Leader (CRL).
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
• Experience implementing Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) programs.
• Experience supporting Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and Process Safety Management programs.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS

• Position requires frequent presence in manufacturing and processing environments to support inspections, audits, troubleshooting, and capital projects.
• Must be able to access equipment throughout facilities, including elevated structures, confined spaces, rooftops, and outdoor process areas.
• May occasionally move equipment, tools, or materials.
• May need to access files, records, supplies, and equipment throughout multiple facility locations.
• Work environment includes office settings, industrial processing facilities, construction sites, utility systems, wastewater treatment facilities, and outdoor environments exposed to varying weather conditions.
• Position requires the ability to travel between facilities as needed.
• Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors, including metal and plastic grating surfaces.
• May be exposed to temperatures ranging from 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with varying humidity levels.
• May be exposed to noise levels ranging from 50 dB to 110 dB.
• May be exposed to chemicals utilized in manufacturing, processing, cleaning, maintenance, and sanitation operations.
• Must wear and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as directed by the Company.
• Must be able to work in confined spaces, permit-required confined spaces, elevated work areas, and around operating equipment.
• Must be trained and capable of complying with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
• Must be able to safely perform field inspections and assessments throughout all facility operations.
