A primary responsibility of this role is to present and position our advice offering(s) during client meetings, including those with prospects, advisors, plan sponsors and participants, clearly articulating its value proposition, differentiation, and impact on participant outcomes. Which companies sponsor visas for strategy consultants in Maryland?
Booz Allen Hamilton, Leidos, and Deloitte Federal are among the most active sponsors for strategy consultant roles in Maryland, given the state's heavy concentration of federal contracting work. Management consulting firms with government and healthcare practices in Bethesda and Baltimore also have documented sponsorship histories. Sponsorship is not guaranteed and depends on the specific role, project, and employer's current hiring needs.
Which visa types are most common for strategy consultant roles in Maryland?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for strategy consultants in Maryland, as the role generally qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field such as business, economics, or management. Candidates from Australia may pursue the E-3, and those from Canada or Mexico may qualify under the TN visa. L-1 transfers are also used by multinational consulting firms relocating employees to Maryland offices.
Which cities in Maryland have the most strategy consultant sponsorship jobs?
Bethesda and Rockville lead in strategy consultant sponsorship activity due to their dense cluster of federal contractors and management consulting firms operating near the Washington, D.C. corridor. Baltimore is the second major hub, driven by healthcare strategy work tied to Johns Hopkins and UMMS. Annapolis sees smaller but consistent demand, particularly in state government and defense-adjacent advisory roles.
How to find strategy consultant visa sponsorship jobs in Maryland?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it easier to identify Maryland employers actively hiring strategy consultants who will sponsor international candidates. You can search by role and state to surface relevant openings from consulting firms and federal contractors in Bethesda, Baltimore, and Rockville without manually vetting each employer's sponsorship policies.
Are there any Maryland-specific considerations for strategy consultants seeking visa sponsorship?
Maryland's proximity to Washington, D.C. means many strategy consultant roles involve federal clients, which can introduce security clearance requirements that complicate sponsorship for international candidates. Non-U.S. citizens on temporary work visas are generally ineligible for most clearance levels, which narrows the pool of accessible roles. Focusing on private-sector healthcare, technology, and commercial consulting firms in Baltimore and Bethesda tends to yield more accessible sponsorship opportunities.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored strategy consultant jobs in Maryland?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
