Which companies in Oregon sponsor visas for strategy consultants?
Portland-based employers are the most active sponsors for strategy consultant roles in Oregon. Nike, Intel, and Adidas have consistent H-1B filing histories for strategy and business advisory positions. Large health systems including Providence Health and Oregon Health & Science University also sponsor consultants in operational and strategic planning roles. Global consulting firms with Portland offices, such as Deloitte and Accenture, round out the sponsoring employer pool.
Which visa types are most common for strategy consultant roles in Oregon?
The H-1B is the most common visa for strategy consultants in Oregon, as the role generally qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in business, economics, or a related field. Candidates from Canada or Mexico may also be eligible for TN visa status under the USMCA. Australians can pursue the E-3 visa, which has no annual lottery and is available year-round through consular processing.
Which cities in Oregon have the most strategy consultant sponsorship jobs?
Portland is by far the dominant market for strategy consultant sponsorship jobs in Oregon, driven by its concentration of corporate headquarters, technology firms, and large health systems. The metro area accounts for the significant majority of H-1B filings in the state for consulting-related roles. Eugene and Corvallis have smaller markets, largely connected to university-affiliated organizations, while Bend's growing technology sector produces occasional openings.
How to find strategy consultant visa sponsorship jobs in Oregon?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates seeking visa-sponsored roles and filters strategy consultant jobs in Oregon by sponsorship history. Because not every posting explicitly states visa sponsorship availability, searching a platform that cross-references employer H-1B filing records, as Migrate Mate does, saves significant time. Prioritizing Oregon employers with multi-year sponsorship track records in strategy and business advisory functions gives you the strongest starting point.
Are there any Oregon-specific considerations for strategy consultant sponsorship?
Oregon does not impose state-level visa or work authorization requirements beyond federal rules, but the Oregon Labor Market Information System publishes prevailing wage data that employers must reference when filing a Labor Condition Application for H-1B strategy consultant roles. Portland's competitive consulting market means employers are generally familiar with the sponsorship process. Proximity to major Pacific Northwest technology and consumer goods headquarters increases the density of employers experienced with international hires.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored strategy consultant jobs in Oregon?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
