Which companies sponsor visas for strategy consultants in Ohio?
The most active H-1B sponsors for strategy consultant roles in Ohio include the Big Four firms (Deloitte, PwC, EY, and KPMG), which have significant offices in Columbus and Cleveland. Large regional employers such as KeyCorp, Nationwide, and Progressive also sponsor consulting talent. Healthcare systems like Cleveland Clinic and OhioHealth increasingly hire strategy consultants and have filed sponsorship petitions.
Which visa types are most common for strategy consultant roles in Ohio?
The H-1B is the most common visa for strategy consultants in Ohio, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as business, economics, or management. L-1B visas apply when a consultant transfers from an overseas office of the same employer. TN visas are available specifically for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying consulting classifications.
Which cities in Ohio have the most strategy consultant sponsorship jobs?
Columbus leads Ohio for strategy consultant sponsorship activity, driven by its concentration of financial services, insurance, and corporate headquarters. Cleveland is a strong second, particularly for consultants focused on healthcare, manufacturing, and financial advisory work. Cincinnati rounds out the top three, supported by consumer goods companies and regional professional services firms with established sponsorship track records.
How to find strategy consultant visa sponsorship jobs in Ohio?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to find strategy consultant roles in Ohio without sorting through positions that don't offer sponsorship. You can narrow results by location and role type to focus on Ohio employers actively hiring internationally. This saves significant time compared to reviewing unfiltered postings where sponsorship status is unclear or unstated.
Are there state-specific factors that affect strategy consultant sponsorship in Ohio?
Ohio's concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters and major healthcare systems creates steady demand for strategy consultants, which supports consistent H-1B sponsorship activity. Employers must pay the Department of Labor's prevailing wage for the specific metropolitan area, so Columbus, Cleveland, and Cincinnati each have distinct wage requirements for the same role. Ohio State University and Case Western Reserve University also produce graduate pipelines that influence how employers structure consulting hiring.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored strategy consultant jobs in Ohio?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
