Which companies sponsor visas for strategy consultants in Massachusetts?
The most active sponsors for strategy consultant roles in Massachusetts include Bain and Company, Boston Consulting Group, McKinsey, Deloitte, and Accenture, all of which maintain significant Boston-area operations. Life sciences and healthcare firms like Biogen and Partners Healthcare also sponsor strategy roles. Sponsorship frequency varies by firm size, hiring cycle, and whether the role is classified as a specialty occupation requiring a specific degree field.
Which visa types are most common for strategy consultant roles in Massachusetts?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa category for strategy consultants in Massachusetts, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as business, economics, or engineering. The L-1A and L-1B are also used when candidates transfer from an overseas office of the same firm. Some firms use the O-1 visa for candidates with exceptional academic or professional recognition.
Which cities in Massachusetts have the most strategy consultant sponsorship jobs?
Boston accounts for the large majority of strategy consultant sponsorship activity in Massachusetts, particularly in the Financial District, Back Bay, and Seaport neighborhoods where major consulting and financial services firms are concentrated. Cambridge generates demand through its proximity to MIT and Harvard, which feed into both consulting firms and biotech strategy roles. Waltham and Lexington along the Route 128 corridor also have consulting demand tied to the technology and life sciences industries there.
How to find strategy consultant visa sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find strategy consultant roles in Massachusetts where employers are actively open to visa sponsorship. The platform filters jobs specifically by sponsorship willingness, so you are not sorting through listings that exclude international candidates. For strategy roles in Massachusetts, it is worth filtering by industry sector as well, since consulting demand is spread across life sciences, financial services, and technology in this state.
Are there any state-specific considerations for strategy consultant visa sponsorship in Massachusetts?
Massachusetts has one of the highest concentrations of H-1B filings in the country, driven by its consulting, biotech, and financial services sectors. Because Boston-area consulting firms draw heavily from programs at Harvard, MIT, and Boston University, international graduates on OPT frequently pursue sponsorship through these same employers. Prevailing wage requirements for strategy consultant roles in the Boston metropolitan area tend to reflect the region's high cost of living, which affects the wage level the employer must certify on the Labor Condition Application.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored strategy consultant jobs in Massachusetts?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
