Do you want to be a part of the clean energy movement? Are you passionate about improving our environment for this generation and those to follow? Are you ready to take on new challenges and collaborate with a future-focused team leading the way into new markets? Join Nexamp! This is where you can learn from industry leaders and become one yourself. It's fast-paced, mission-based work that challenges the status quo. Be on the team that's changing the world.
ROLE
We're looking for a Lead Data Analyst to craft insightful and compelling data stories, empower business owners across Nexamp to make more effective data-driven decisions, and help build our self-service data platform. As one of the nation’s largest and longest tenured solar and storage owner operators – and one of the few that is fully vertically integrated – our data is a differentiator in the market and a catalyst for future growth. You’ll be solving uniquely challenging data problems, alongside a strong team, and for a company in which the business model and mission are inseparably intertwined: our solar farms save customers money, help the planet, and are profitable for Nexamp and its investors. You will be hybrid out of our Boston office. You will report to the Director, Product Management - Data.
Responsibilities
- Independently gather requirements for, prioritize, deliver, maintain, and continuously improve reusable data models, dashboards, analyses, A/B tests, and other data assets. Act as the product manager and implementer for your domain’s data offerings. Implement work using advanced SQL and BI tool skills.
- Become the subject matter expert for data in your business areas. Identify opportunities for impact, proactively surface insights, support decision-making, and contribute to and influence business strategy and initiatives. Serve as your business stakeholders’ right hand. Support other business areas opportunistically.
- Create and maintain comprehensive data documentation and communicate updates to your stakeholders. Write user stories or tickets for data engineering, validate data mapping, conduct QA, and implement data quality monitoring.
- Monitor the usage of data assets, increase data literacy, and promote self-service through BI tools among stakeholders. Provide training, guidance, and support as needed.
- Work within a centralized data team using agile methodologies. Collaborate with peer analysts through overlapping work, priority shifting, and code reviews to broaden your Nexamp knowledge.
- Partner with the data architect, engineers, scientists, and analysts to shape the vision and roadmap for Nexamp’s data platform. Define and track annual OKRs to measure your impact.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 7+ years of experience as a data analyst serving business owners and collaborating with data engineers (experience in the energy/construction industry is a plus, but not required)
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field would be preferred; advanced degree is a plus.
- Advanced in SQL and BI tool administration and usage (experience with Databricks and Sigma are a plus, but not required)
- Strong track record of independently solving problems.
- Commitment to Nexamp's mission and have a passion for solving tomorrow's climate crisis today.
- Demonstrated experience in effectively communicating information, ideas, and perspectives with people inside and beyond your organization.
- Experience in showcasing initiative to make improvements to current work, processes, products, and services across the organization. We value accountability and an ownership mentality.
- Ability to ask appropriate questions, analyze data, identify the root causes of problems, and present creative solutions.
- Expertise in building strong internal and external relationships with customers and stakeholders, instilling trust and loyalty across the industry.
- Eagerness to develop a fundamental understanding of how Nexamp operates and then apply that knowledge effectively to inform business decisions.
If you don’t meet 100% of the above qualifications, but see yourself contributing, please apply.

Search Data Analyst Jobs in MassachusettsData Analyst Jobs in Massachusetts: Frequently Asked Questions
Which companies sponsor visas for data analysts in Massachusetts?
Massachusetts has a strong concentration of data analyst sponsors across multiple industries. In biotech and life sciences, companies like Biogen, Moderna, and Vertex Pharmaceuticals regularly file sponsorship petitions. In financial services, Fidelity Investments, State Street, and Liberty Mutual are consistent sponsors. Technology firms including HubSpot, Wayfair, and MathWorks also appear frequently in Department of Labor disclosure data for data analyst roles.
Which visa types are most common for data analyst roles in Massachusetts?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa category for data analysts in Massachusetts, as the role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as statistics, computer science, or mathematics. Australian citizens may pursue the E-3 visa as an alternative. Candidates already in the U.S. on F-1 OPT or STEM OPT frequently transition to employer-sponsored H-1B visa status through Massachusetts employers.
Which cities in Massachusetts have the most data analyst sponsorship jobs?
Boston and Cambridge account for the largest share of data analyst sponsorship activity in Massachusetts, driven by the concentration of hospitals, universities, biotech firms, and financial institutions. The Route 128 technology corridor, covering suburbs like Waltham, Lexington, and Burlington, is another active cluster. Worcester has a smaller but growing presence, particularly tied to health care analytics and academic medical centers.
How to find data analyst visa sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. You can filter by role and state to see data analyst positions in Massachusetts where employers have an active history of visa sponsorship. This saves significant time compared to reviewing individual job postings and manually researching each company's sponsorship record. Migrate Mate surfaces roles from across the Boston metro, Cambridge biotech corridor, and Route 128 technology cluster.
Are there state-specific factors that affect data analyst sponsorship in Massachusetts?
Massachusetts employers must meet Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements when filing H-1B Labor Condition Applications, and wages in the Boston metro area are benchmarked to one of the higher regional wage levels in the country. The state's deep university pipeline, including MIT, Harvard, Northeastern, and Boston University, means employers are experienced with international hiring. Life sciences and financial analytics are particularly active sponsorship verticals in this market.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored data analyst jobs in Massachusetts?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
