The State of New Hampshire, Department of Justice, Statistical Analysis Center has a part-time vacancy for a Data Analyst.
Summary:
Under the general supervision of the Director of Grants Management and Strategic Initiatives and the Deputy Director of Administration (Directors), independently complete qualitative and quantitative research to analyze criminal justice data for advanced statistical tests.
YOUR EXPERIENCE COUNTS: Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience and/or each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of experience OR equivalent combination of 7 years of education and experience after completion of high school. Experience and education must be in data analysis, computer science, or related field.
License/Certification: Valid Driver’s License or access to transportation

Responsibilities:

Extract and analyze criminal justice data from databases and other sources and systems; select appropriate statistical methodology and utilize data analysis programs to conduct advanced statistics to draw valid conclusions and findings.

Employ data visualization techniques and tools to clearly present criminal justice data and convey important data trends and relationships for management review.

Create general statistical reports, policy reports and other documentation that supports the development strategies for the Department of Justice and its constituencies and present information through various mediums.

Create presentations and assist the Directors with presentations to educate external stakeholders, and to use in trainings, conferences and symposiums.

Collaborate with Department of Justice upper management to utilize criminal justice data to create policy and program development.

Attend academic and criminal justice conferences, webinars and trainings and utilize those tools to educate and inform upper management on current trends for the gathering and disseminating of criminal justice data.

Read and analyze research reports and articles to stay abreast of the latest developments within the criminal justice field.

Format compiled data in a manner that identifies solutions to criminal justice challenges to include, but not be limited to, identifying necessary resources, outreach, budgeting and methodology.

Utilize data findings to inform criminal justice systems throughout the state and for all branches of government.
