Are you ready to turn sharp financial insights into decisions that shape access to life-changing medicines for people with rare blood and kidney disorders? Based in Boston, you will serve as the trusted finance voice for the US Hematology/Nephrology commercial leadership team, turning complex data into clear narratives that drive investment, launch excellence, and sustained growth. Could you see yourself pressure-testing bold ideas, illuminating trade-offs, and guiding leaders to act with confidence?
This role sits at the heart of our mission to deliver meaningful impact for patients while accelerating responsible growth. You will connect the dots across brands and indications, challenge assumptions with rigor, and ensure resources follow the highest-value opportunities—today and as our portfolio evolves.
Accountabilities:
Strategic Business Partnering: Serve as the primary finance interface to US Hematology/Nephrology leadership, providing trusted advice on financial management and business performance.
Performance Insight & Storytelling: Analyze brand and portfolio results to surface trends, risks, and opportunities; translate data into actionable insights that influence commercial decisions.
Forecast Leadership & Challenge: Coordinate revenue and expense forecasts across planning cycles; test assumptions, quantify variability, and ensure submissions are robust and achievable.
Strategic Advisory: Advise the Business Unit Leader and leadership team on resource optimization, investment cases, business development, sales optimization, launch excellence, and sustained growth.
Opportunity Identification: Proactively identify and quantify areas for revenue growth, cost efficiencies, and improved return on investment across the portfolio.
Business Planning: Partner with indication teams to complete planning cycles and co-develop strategic plans grounded in rigorous financial analysis.
Investment Case Development: Lead business cases for life cycle management, resource changes, and portfolio expansion, with clear scenarios and recommendations.
Financial Close & Reporting: Own monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities; deliver concise, insight-led analysis and commentary to stakeholders.
Leadership Communication: Present forecasts, performance, and risk/opportunity perspectives to the US Leadership Team, including materials for quarterly investment briefings.
Cross-Functional Partnership: Align financial plans with commercial priorities; manage operating expenses across key support functions.
Process Improvement: Strengthen finance processes, tools, and governance; embed continuous improvement within areas of accountability.
Forward-Looking Solutions: Anticipate future information needs and deliver efficient, scalable analytics and reporting solutions.
Ad Hoc Projects: Lead and contribute to high-impact, time-sensitive projects as needed.
Essential Skills/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Business, or a related field
- 7 years of experience in finance, management consulting, investment banking, or business analysis
- Intellectual curiosity and a demonstrated ability to quickly learn new business areas, ask incisive questions, and connect disparate data points into a coherent narrative
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and draw conclusions from incomplete or ambiguous information
- Business Partnering skills – ability to engage credibly with commercial leaders, translate complex financial concepts into plain language, and influence decision-making at senior levels
- Strong analytical capability with a bias toward insight over process
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to tell a compelling story through data
- Confidence engaging with and constructively challenging senior management
- Demonstrated ability to perform in a fast-paced environment that emphasizes teamwork and cross-functional collaboration
- Proven ability to work as a change agent in a dynamic work environment
- A high degree of accuracy with attention to detail
- Demonstrated capacity to effectively manage multiple and frequently changing priorities with a strong sense of ownership and urgency
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; experience with SAP, Qlik, or similar tools is a plus
The duties of this role are generally conducted in an office environment. As is typical of an office-based role, employees must be able, with or without accommodation, to use a computer; engage in communications via phone, video, and electronic messaging; engage in problem solving and non-linear thought, analysis, and dialogue; collaborate with others; maintain general availability during standard business hours.

Which companies sponsor visas for finance business partners in Massachusetts?
Large employers with established immigration programs are the most consistent sponsors. In Massachusetts, that includes financial services firms like Fidelity Investments, State Street, and Liberty Mutual, as well as life sciences companies such as Biogen, Moderna, and Takeda. Large tech employers with Boston-area offices, including HubSpot and Wayfair, also sponsor H-1B visas for finance business partner roles with some regularity.
Which visa types are most common for finance business partner roles in Massachusetts?
The H-1B is the most common visa for finance business partners in Massachusetts, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or economics, which satisfies the specialty occupation standard. Candidates with an approved I-140 may also work under H-1B extensions beyond the standard six-year limit. Australian citizens may qualify for the E-3 visa, which follows a similar application process but has no lottery requirement.
Which cities in Massachusetts have the most finance business partner sponsorship jobs?
Greater Boston, including the city itself and nearby Cambridge, Waltham, and Lexington, accounts for the large majority of finance business partner openings in Massachusetts. Waltham in particular hosts many biotech and pharmaceutical company offices that frequently hire for finance business partner roles. Worcester has a smaller but growing concentration of healthcare and financial services employers that occasionally sponsor visas for this function.
How to find finance business partner visa sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates and filters job listings by visa sponsorship willingness, so you can browse finance business partner roles in Massachusetts without sorting through positions that won't consider sponsored candidates. The platform focuses on employers with a demonstrated history of H-1B and other visa filings, which is especially useful in Massachusetts given the volume of postings across financial services, life sciences, and tech sectors in Greater Boston.
Are there any Massachusetts-specific considerations for finance business partners seeking visa sponsorship?
Massachusetts employers are subject to the Department of Labor's prevailing wage requirements when filing an H-1B Labor Condition Application, and Boston's prevailing wages for finance business partner roles reflect the area's high cost of living. The state's concentration of universities, including MIT, Harvard, and Boston University, means employers are accustomed to sponsoring international candidates, which generally makes the process more routine at larger firms compared to less immigration-experienced employers in other states.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored finance business partner jobs in Massachusetts?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
