Which companies sponsor visas for finance business partners in Illinois?
Chicago-headquartered companies are the primary sponsors for finance business partner roles in Illinois. United Airlines, Morningstar, Kraft Heinz, Hyatt, Zebra Technologies, and Discover Financial have all filed H-1B applications for finance and FP&A roles. Large professional services firms with significant Illinois offices, including Deloitte, PwC, and Accenture, also sponsor finance business partners regularly.
Which visa types are most common for finance business partner roles in Illinois?
The H-1B is the most common visa for finance business partners in Illinois, as these roles typically require a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or economics, meeting the specialty occupation standard. Candidates already working for multinational companies may qualify for an L-1B transfer. Australians should note the E-3 visa as an additional option with no annual lottery.
Which cities in Illinois have the most finance business partner sponsorship jobs?
Chicago accounts for the overwhelming majority of finance business partner sponsorship opportunities in Illinois. The Loop, River North, and Fulton Market districts house most corporate headquarters and regional offices with active finance teams. Suburban areas including Deerfield, Schaumburg, and Downers Grove also have openings, primarily with large manufacturing and consumer goods companies that maintain FP&A functions outside the city.
How to find finance business partner visa sponsorship jobs in Illinois?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to search for finance business partner roles in Illinois without sorting through positions that don't sponsor. You can filter by location to focus on Chicago and surrounding metro areas. Migrate Mate surfaces roles from companies with a documented history of H-1B sponsorship for finance and FP&A positions.
Are there state-specific or role-specific factors to know about finance business partner hiring in Illinois?
Illinois employers sponsoring H-1B workers must pay the Department of Labor's prevailing wage for the role and location, which for finance business partner positions in Chicago reflects a competitive market. The University of Illinois system and University of Chicago produce a significant pipeline of international finance graduates, meaning employers in Illinois are generally familiar with OPT-to-H-1B transitions for candidates in this field.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored finance business partner jobs in Illinois?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
