Which companies sponsor visas for project program managers in Massachusetts?
Massachusetts employers with consistent H-1B sponsorship histories for project and program management roles include Raytheon Technologies, Biogen, Takeda Pharmaceuticals, MathWorks, Liberty Mutual, and Fidelity Investments. Large defense contractors and biopharma firms along the Route 128 corridor file Labor Condition Applications for program managers regularly, making them reliable targets for internationally qualified candidates seeking sponsorship.
Which visa types are most common for project program managers in Massachusetts?
The H-1B is the most common visa for project program managers in Massachusetts, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree in business administration, engineering, or a related field, meeting the specialty occupation standard. Candidates already in the U.S. on F-1 OPT or STEM OPT can work while their employer files an H-1B petition. L-1B and TN visas may also apply depending on the candidate's situation and nationality.
Which cities in Massachusetts have the most project program manager sponsorship jobs?
Boston and Cambridge account for the largest share of project program manager sponsorship opportunities in Massachusetts, driven by the concentration of biotech, healthcare, and technology firms. Waltham, Lexington, and Burlington along Route 128 are also significant hubs, particularly for defense and enterprise software employers. Worcester has a growing healthcare and research presence that generates program management demand as well.
How to find project program manager visa sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it easier to identify Massachusetts employers actively hiring project program managers who will sponsor. Rather than sorting through general job postings, you can browse roles confirmed to offer sponsorship across Boston, Cambridge, and the Route 128 corridor, focusing your search on companies in life sciences, defense, and technology where program management sponsorship is most common.
Are there any Massachusetts-specific factors that affect project program manager visa sponsorship?
Massachusetts employers must pay H-1B holders the prevailing wage for project and program manager roles as determined by the Department of Labor for the Boston-Cambridge-Nashua metropolitan area, which typically reflects the region's high cost of living. The density of research universities like MIT, Harvard, and Northeastern also creates a strong pipeline of candidates, meaning competition for sponsored roles can be meaningful. Defense contractors may impose additional security clearance requirements that affect visa eligibility.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored project program manager jobs in Massachusetts?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
