Which companies sponsor visas for technical architects in Massachusetts?
Large technology and life sciences employers in Massachusetts with consistent sponsorship track records for technical architects include MathWorks, HubSpot, Biogen, Fidelity Investments, State Street, and Wayfair. Boston's concentration of cloud infrastructure, healthcare IT, and fintech firms also produces sponsorship activity from mid-size and growth-stage companies. Checking a company's prior H-1B filings through the Department of Labor's public disclosure data gives a reliable picture of sponsorship history.
Which visa types are most common for technical architect roles in Massachusetts?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for technical architects in Massachusetts, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related technical field. L-1A and L-1B visas are also used for architects transferring within multinational firms. Candidates with an existing O-1A petition based on demonstrated expertise in systems design or engineering may also find opportunities with Massachusetts employers.
Which cities in Massachusetts have the most technical architect sponsorship jobs?
Greater Boston accounts for the large majority of technical architect sponsorship activity in Massachusetts, with Cambridge and the Seaport District home to dense concentrations of technology and life sciences employers. Waltham and Burlington along Route 128 host established enterprise software and defense technology firms that sponsor regularly. Worcester has a smaller but growing presence tied to healthcare IT and university-affiliated research institutions.
How to find technical architect visa sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically to roles where employers are open to visa sponsorship, making it straightforward to search for technical architect positions in Massachusetts without sorting through listings that exclude international candidates. You can filter by state and job title to surface relevant opportunities from employers across Greater Boston, Route 128, and beyond. Creating a profile on Migrate Mate also helps match your background to companies with active sponsorship programs for this role.
Are there state-specific considerations for technical architects pursuing sponsorship in Massachusetts?
Massachusetts has one of the highest prevailing wage levels in the country for technical architect roles, which affects the wage floor employers must certify on a Labor Condition Application when filing an H-1B petition. The state's deep university pipeline through MIT, Northeastern, and Boston University means employers are accustomed to sponsoring international talent. Life sciences and fintech employers in particular tend to have in-house immigration support, which can simplify the sponsorship process for candidates.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored technical architect jobs in Massachusetts?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
