Which companies sponsor visas for technical architects in Indiana?
Salesforce, Eli Lilly, Cummins, Anthem (now Elevance Health), and OneAmerica are among the Indiana employers with documented H-1B visa sponsorship histories for senior technical roles. Consulting firms like Infosys and Cognizant also maintain delivery centers in Indianapolis and regularly sponsor technical architects placed with local clients across healthcare, insurance, and manufacturing sectors.
Which visa types are most common for technical architect roles in Indiana?
The H-1B is the most common visa for technical architects in Indiana, given the role's classification as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field. L-1A and L-1B visas are also relevant for architects transferring from a foreign office of a multinational employer, which applies to large firms like Cummins and Salesforce with international operations.
Which cities in Indiana have the most technical architect sponsorship jobs?
Indianapolis accounts for the significant majority of technical architect sponsorship activity in Indiana. The city hosts the headquarters or major offices of Elevance Health, OneAmerica, and Salesforce's regional operations, along with a concentration of consulting and IT services firms. Fort Wayne and Bloomington have smaller but emerging tech hiring activity, particularly around manufacturing technology and university-affiliated research environments.
How to find technical architect visa sponsorship jobs in Indiana?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for roles with visa sponsorship, including technical architect positions in Indiana. Rather than sorting through thousands of unfiltered postings, you can search directly by role and state to surface employers who have indicated sponsorship availability. Indiana's technical architect market skews toward enterprise and healthcare IT, so filtering by those industries on Migrate Mate can further narrow results to the most relevant opportunities.
Are there any Indiana-specific factors that affect technical architect visa sponsorship?
Indiana's prevailing wage requirements under the H-1B program are determined by the Department of Labor using Indianapolis-area wage data, which tends to run lower than coastal metro benchmarks. This can make sponsorship more financially accessible for mid-sized Indiana employers who might otherwise hesitate. Purdue University and Indiana University also generate a pipeline of computer science graduates who pursue OPT extensions, giving some local employers familiarity with early-career sponsorship before hiring senior architects.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored technical architect jobs in Indiana?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
