Which companies sponsor visas for technical project managers in Massachusetts?
Large employers with consistent sponsorship histories in Massachusetts include Raytheon Technologies, Biogen, Thermo Fisher Scientific, HubSpot, MathWorks, and Wayfair. Healthcare systems like Mass General Brigham and financial institutions like Fidelity Investments also sponsor technical project managers. Defense contractors and biotech firms tend to have dedicated immigration support teams, making them more experienced with the sponsorship process.
Which visa types are most common for technical project manager roles in Massachusetts?
The H-1B is the most common visa for technical project managers in Massachusetts, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, engineering, or information systems. Some candidates also enter through the L-1B intracompany transferee visa when moving from an overseas office of a multinational employer based in or operating in Massachusetts.
How to find technical project manager visa sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship, so you can browse technical project manager openings in Massachusetts without sorting through roles that don't offer it. The platform surfaces positions from companies with documented sponsorship activity, which is particularly useful in a competitive market like Greater Boston where not every employer is willing to file H-1B petitions for this role.
Which cities in Massachusetts have the most technical project manager sponsorship jobs?
Boston and Cambridge account for the largest share of sponsored technical project manager roles, driven by the biotech corridor along Route 128, the Seaport tech cluster, and proximity to MIT and Harvard. Waltham and Woburn are also significant hubs, hosting numerous life sciences and defense technology firms. Burlington and Marlborough see demand from enterprise software and hardware companies operating outside the urban core.
Are there any Massachusetts-specific considerations for technical project managers seeking visa sponsorship?
Massachusetts employers must meet the Department of Labor's prevailing wage requirements for the specific metropolitan area where the role is based, and Greater Boston wages are benchmarked against a high-cost labor market. The state's strong university pipeline from MIT, Northeastern, and Boston University means employers in life sciences and software are accustomed to sponsoring international candidates, but competition for sponsored roles remains high given the density of qualified applicants in the region.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored technical project manager jobs in Massachusetts?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
