Which companies sponsor visas for technical project managers in Florida?
Florida's largest technical project manager sponsors include defense and aerospace employers such as Lockheed Martin, L3Harris, and Raytheon near Orlando and Melbourne, large healthcare IT organizations like AdventHealth and HCA Healthcare in Tampa and Orlando, and financial technology firms concentrated in Miami. Enterprise technology consultancies with Florida offices, including Deloitte and Accenture, also have consistent H-1B sponsorship histories for this role.
Which visa types are most common for technical project manager roles in Florida?
The H-1B is the most common visa for technical project managers in Florida, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field such as computer science, engineering, or information systems. Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify under the TN visa category. Australians holding E-3 visas are another option. L-1B transfers apply for intracompany moves into project management roles.
Which cities in Florida have the most technical project manager sponsorship jobs?
Orlando leads Florida for technical project manager sponsorship activity, driven by defense, simulation technology, and healthcare IT employers. The Space Coast cities of Melbourne and Titusville are strong for aerospace-focused roles. Tampa has a dense concentration of healthcare IT and financial services sponsors. Miami is growing rapidly in fintech and enterprise technology. Jacksonville also has notable activity from financial services and logistics technology employers.
How to find technical project manager visa sponsorship jobs in Florida?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for visa sponsorship eligibility, making it straightforward to search technical project manager roles across Florida's major hiring hubs including Orlando, Tampa, and Miami. Because sponsorship willingness is often not stated in standard job postings, using a platform like Migrate Mate that surfaces confirmed sponsoring employers saves significant time and focuses your applications on companies already open to international candidates.
Are there any Florida-specific considerations for technical project manager visa sponsorship?
Florida's defense and aerospace sector, concentrated around the Space Coast and greater Orlando, often requires security clearances that can complicate sponsorship for non-citizens, so candidates should verify clearance requirements before applying to those roles. Florida's lack of a state income tax is worth noting as context for comparing offers. University programs at the University of Florida, University of Central Florida, and University of South Florida also produce a notable pipeline of OPT-eligible technical project managers who transition to sponsored roles.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored technical project manager jobs in Florida?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
