Which companies in Minnesota sponsor visas for technical project managers?
Large Minneapolis-Saint Paul employers are the most active sponsors for technical project manager roles in Minnesota. UnitedHealth Group, Target, Best Buy, U.S. Bank, and 3M have all filed Labor Condition Applications for technical project management positions. Mid-size technology firms and healthcare IT companies in the Twin Cities metro also sponsor, though less frequently than enterprise-level employers.
Which visa types are most common for technical project manager roles in Minnesota?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa category for technical project managers in Minnesota, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field and qualifies as a specialty occupation. Candidates already holding L-1B status through an intracompany transfer or TN visa status (for Canadian and Mexican nationals) may also transition into technical project manager roles with an eligible employer.
How to find technical project manager visa sponsorship jobs in Minnesota?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to search for technical project manager roles in Minnesota without sorting through positions that won't support work authorization. You can narrow results to the Twin Cities metro or other Minnesota locations and focus on employers with a documented history of sponsoring technical project management hires.
Which cities in Minnesota have the most technical project manager sponsorship jobs?
The vast majority of technical project manager sponsorship opportunities in Minnesota are concentrated in Minneapolis and Saint Paul, along with their suburbs including Minnetonka, Eden Prairie, and Bloomington, where many corporate headquarters and technology campuses are located. Rochester sees demand in healthcare IT tied to Mayo Clinic's operations, making it a secondary market worth monitoring.
Are there any Minnesota-specific considerations for technical project managers pursuing visa sponsorship?
Minnesota's prevailing wage requirements for H-1B technical project manager positions are set at the federal level using Department of Labor wage data, but wages in the Twin Cities metro reflect a competitive technology market. Candidates with backgrounds in healthcare IT, retail technology, or financial services align well with Minnesota's dominant industries, which can strengthen an employer's case for sponsorship.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored technical project manager jobs in Minnesota?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
