Which companies sponsor visas for clinical assistants in Michigan?
Michigan Medicine (the University of Michigan health system), Henry Ford Health, Beaumont Health, Spectrum Health, and McLaren Health Care are among the larger employers in Michigan with documented histories of sponsoring international workers. Academic medical centers tend to have more structured immigration support processes than smaller private clinics, making them a practical starting point for international candidates seeking clinical assistant roles.
Which visa types are most common for clinical assistant roles in Michigan?
The H-1B is the most common visa for clinical assistant positions that require a relevant bachelor's degree and qualify as a specialty occupation. For roles involving supervised clinical training within academic institutions, J-1 exchange visitor status is also used. Candidates already holding TN, O-1, or EAD work authorization may also be considered by Michigan employers, depending on the specific position and department.
Which cities in Michigan have the most clinical assistant sponsorship jobs?
Ann Arbor leads due to Michigan Medicine's large academic health system and its consistent need for clinical support staff. Detroit and its metro area follow, anchored by Henry Ford Health and the Detroit Medical Center. Grand Rapids is a growing secondary market, driven by Spectrum Health and a cluster of outpatient and specialty care facilities. These three metros account for the majority of sponsored clinical assistant openings in the state.
How to find clinical assistant visa sponsorship jobs in Michigan?
Migrate Mate is a job board built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship in the U.S. You can filter directly for clinical assistant roles in Michigan, surfacing positions at employers who have sponsored workers in similar roles before. This is more efficient than sifting through general job listings where sponsorship availability is rarely disclosed upfront. Creating a profile on Migrate Mate lets you track relevant Michigan openings as they are posted.
Are there state-specific factors that affect visa sponsorship for clinical assistants in Michigan?
Michigan's concentration of large academic medical centers gives it a stronger sponsorship infrastructure than many other states. Employers affiliated with university health systems, like Michigan Medicine, often have dedicated immigration legal teams that manage H-1B filings regularly. Clinical assistants in Michigan should be aware that sponsorship eligibility depends on whether their specific role meets USCIS specialty occupation standards, which can vary by job title, required degree, and departmental classification.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored clinical assistant jobs in Michigan?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
