Which companies sponsor visas for manager, product management roles in Michigan?
Ford Motor Company, General Motors, and Stellantis are among Michigan's most active H-1B visa sponsors and regularly hire at the product management manager level for connected vehicle, software, and digital platforms. Beyond automotive, companies like Rocket Companies in Detroit and health system technology groups in the Ann Arbor area have also sponsored product management leaders through employer-filed petitions.
Which visa types are most common for manager, product management roles in Michigan?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for manager, product management positions in Michigan, as the role consistently qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as computer science, engineering, or business. Candidates with prior L-1A status at a multinational employer transferring into a Michigan office may also qualify, and some senior candidates pursue the O-1A for demonstrated extraordinary achievement.
Which cities in Michigan have the most manager, product management sponsorship jobs?
Detroit and its surrounding suburbs, particularly Dearborn, Southfield, and Auburn Hills, account for the largest share of sponsored product management manager roles in Michigan, driven by automotive and mobility employers. Ann Arbor is a strong secondary market with technology companies, university-affiliated startups, and health systems. Grand Rapids has a smaller but emerging presence, particularly in manufacturing software and medical device technology.
How to find manager, product management visa sponsorship jobs in Michigan?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to browse manager, product management openings in Michigan without sifting through roles that don't offer sponsorship. The platform surfaces positions from automotive technology companies, health tech employers, and software firms active in the Detroit and Ann Arbor markets, which are the primary hiring hubs for this role in the state.
Are there state-specific considerations for manager, product management sponsorship jobs in Michigan?
Michigan's product management manager roles are heavily shaped by the automotive industry's transition to software-defined vehicles, meaning employers often seek candidates with technical backgrounds in embedded systems, data platforms, or mobility services alongside traditional product leadership skills. The University of Michigan and Michigan State University supply a pipeline of candidates on OPT, making Ann Arbor employers particularly familiar with international hiring and the H-1B sponsorship process.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored manager, product management jobs in Michigan?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
