Which distribution and wholesale companies sponsor TN visas in Michigan?
Michigan-based distributors and wholesalers that have historically sponsored TN visas include large automotive parts suppliers and industrial distributors concentrated in the Detroit metro, as well as food and beverage wholesale operations in Grand Rapids. National wholesale chains with Michigan distribution centers, such as Sysco and Gordon Food Service, have sponsored TN workers in technical and management roles. Sponsorship patterns vary by facility size and role type.
Which cities in Michigan have the most distribution and wholesale TN sponsorship jobs?
The Detroit metropolitan area, including Warren, Sterling Heights, and Dearborn, concentrates the most distribution and wholesale TN sponsorship activity due to its automotive supply chain density. Grand Rapids is a secondary hub, driven by food wholesale and consumer goods distribution. Lansing and Flint also have industrial distribution employers, though volume is lower. Proximity to Ontario makes southeast Michigan particularly active for Canadian TN workers.
What types of distribution and wholesale roles typically qualify for TN sponsorship?
TN visa eligibility requires the role to match one of the designated USMCA occupational categories. Within distribution and wholesale, qualifying roles most commonly include industrial engineers overseeing logistics systems, management consultants advising on supply chain operations, accountants handling financial functions, and computer systems analysts working on inventory or warehouse management platforms. General warehouse supervisor or sales representative roles typically do not qualify because they lack the specialized degree requirement.
How do I find distribution and wholesale TN sponsorship jobs in Michigan?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for TN visa holders and lists distribution and wholesale roles in Michigan where employers have indicated sponsorship willingness. You can filter by visa type, state, and industry to surface relevant openings without sifting through positions that don't support TN status. Because Michigan's distribution sector spans automotive, food, and industrial supply, using a targeted filter on Migrate Mate saves significant time compared to unfiltered job searching.
Are there any Michigan-specific considerations for TN sponsorship in distribution and wholesale?
Michigan's concentration of automotive and industrial supply chain employers means many distribution roles are tied to manufacturing support functions, which can strengthen the specialty occupation argument for engineers and analysts. The state's border proximity to Ontario also means some Michigan employers have prior experience sponsoring Canadian TN workers and are familiar with the process. However, not all distribution employers, regardless of size or experience, will sponsor TN visas, so confirming sponsorship willingness before applying is important.
