What Makes This Internship Different?
Steel Dynamics’ mechanical engineering internships stand out from those at other companies because they offer a true balance of office-based engineering work and hands-on industrial experience. Interns are not limited to observing from a distance; they actively work alongside operators and maintenance teams on the production floor, applying engineering principles directly to equipment, systems, and processes. This approach allows interns to design solutions, test them in real-world conditions, and see the immediate impact of their work. By combining technical analysis, CAD design, and process improvement projects with practical mechanical maintenance, Steel Dynamics provides interns with a unique opportunity to develop both engineering expertise and practical skills that are highly valued in the industry.

Which distribution and wholesale companies sponsor TN visas in Texas?
Several large distribution and wholesale employers with significant Texas operations have sponsored TN visas, including McKesson (headquartered in Irving), Sysco (headquartered in Houston), Wesco International, Grainger, and AmeriSourceBergen. Companies managing cross-border supply chains through Laredo and El Paso tend to have more experience with TN sponsorship given regular movement of Canadian and Mexican professionals across those corridors.
Which cities in Texas have the most distribution and wholesale TN sponsorship jobs?
Dallas-Fort Worth leads for distribution and wholesale TN sponsorship jobs in Texas, driven by its concentration of regional headquarters and major distribution centers. Houston is strong in wholesale trade tied to energy, medical supplies, and food service. Laredo and El Paso see activity specifically in cross-border logistics and import-export wholesale roles, given their position as major U.S.-Mexico trade entry points.
What types of distribution and wholesale roles typically qualify for TN sponsorship?
TN status covers specific USMCA-listed occupations, so the job title and duties must align with qualifying categories such as Engineer, Industrial Engineer, Management Consultant, Accountant, Computer Systems Analyst, or Scientific Technologist. Roles in supply chain engineering, logistics systems analysis, or operations consulting within distribution and wholesale companies can qualify, but general warehouse management or sales positions typically do not meet the TN specialty occupation standard.
How do I find distribution and wholesale TN sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate is a job board built specifically for international professionals seeking visa sponsorship in the U.S. You can filter by TN visa type, the distribution and wholesale industry, and Texas as your target state to see employers actively hiring for TN-eligible roles. Because TN sponsorship is employer-dependent, focusing your search on companies with established cross-border hiring experience in Texas gives you the strongest starting point.
Are there any state-specific or industry-specific considerations for TN sponsorship in Texas distribution and wholesale jobs?
Texas's position as the top U.S. state for U.S.-Mexico trade means many distribution and wholesale employers here are familiar with TN visa requirements, particularly for Mexican nationals. Roles tied to import-export operations, cross-border logistics, and wholesale trade along the Texas-Mexico border may see relatively higher employer familiarity with TN processes. However, TN eligibility depends on the specific role and duties, not the employer's location, and sponsorship is never automatic regardless of industry experience.
